Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Were on 43

were on 43m and likely 47m by the end of the day and we can’t be finished yet
So much more nuance than that I think. TBH, we’re ‘only’ on 27.5 this financial year, potentially 31.5 when Travers signs. Over 4 year contracts and including wages that’s around the £10m mark spent this year. I don’t think Friedkins have a cash flow worry and we are surely well within PSRA limits so I’d expect a few more signing yet

Everybody knows that though don't they? We're a PL team, we know that we have a team who are theoretically capable of being competitive in any given game, because we haven't all completely lost our memory. People are just hoping that we improve and do better than we have in recent years, and so are talking - in a transfer thread - about how transfers could help us to do that.
I don’t know. There were some on a certain managers thread last season telling us that these same players were only capable of relegation scrapping and were all absolutely crap and relegation was inevitable.

Mentioned in this article, albeit fleetingly, about having an interest in Jacob Ramsey. Forest favourites due to European football.
You would have to wonder how much of an attraction Europa/Conference League football really is. Appreciate it's all paper talk anyway but I think it would only be a marginal factor in an example like that.

Could see Notts Forest struggling this season for what it's worth.

Yes.

RB, RW, LB, LW, CF, CMx2, 10,

I have a feeling we wont sign a RB, because Obrien is first choice there and we have coleman and patterson as cover
I dont think we will sign a LW, its either Ndiaye or McNeil there.
We need a LB, hopefully someone more attacking than Myko
I think we will probably only get 1 CM, though I would like 2
we will get a RW and a 10 that can play RW, to give us cover
I think if we sign another CF it will be a loan, like Broja last season

So I think we will only sign 5 more (after Travers), I would like more, but I just dont think we will get it done.

Don't need another 10.

Assuming we've got Travers,

Erm, priority like ASAP:
RW X2
RB

Then before season kicks off at the very latest:
LB, CM

Then up to deal sheet time with whatever coffers are left for this window maybe :
CF* & GK

*must be able to pass a medical.

We just missed out on Tete

I never get this favourites because they have European football.

The reality is they will spend 5 minutes in Europe and probably fighting relegation this season.
Player X signs 4 year contract because they have European football, also i reckon most players aren't arsed about European football apart from the CL were they can demand big wages.

Yeah we assume players relish that Thursday/ Sunday slog. Unless it’s CL I’m not sure how much of a pull Europe necessarily is.

Even if it does have some sway this is where you need to present your long term vision for success. We might not have Europe next season but our 3-4 year prospects with stable, wealthy owners and a world class revenue generating stadium, should be way beyond the likes of Forest.

There's a guy called DavideK stirring the pot every day.
Italians pretty much only use ‘k’ in loan words from other languages eg kiwi, kayak. The same is true for J, W, X and Y. In this way the core Italian alphabet use is a throwback to the late era Etruscan alphabet (20 letters) rather than Latin (initially 23, now 26). Latin had a K (from Greek) though it was mainly only used in Greek transplant words with C more commonly used and having both soft and hard sound variants just as it does in modern English. Latin received medieval adaptations with J,U,W added to represent the secondary Latin pronunciations of I, V and the doubled V V to become the modern 26 we use. Boring but true 😉

I guess none whatsoever, think players would rather be chilling at home or have a day off than travel to Belguim for a game of footy against some no mark team.

I have no desire for Everton to be in these comps, many do i just dont! Playing Antwerp away or Grasshopper at home does feck all for me

Definitely. It's just an easy thing for journalists to say.
