Confirmed Signing Mark Travers

He doesnt start anywhere in the Premier League probably
He gets a big wage increase, gets to be back up to a top keeper and if Pickford is injured he plays.

It's lucrative too. Even 3rd choice keepers get paid 20k to 30k a week depending on club, so Mark will be on a lot more than that I imagine. Scott Carson earned over £7m for 108 minutes of footy in 5 years..

I think it's worth considering that some third choice goalkeepers, mainly the older ones, double-up as additional goalkeeping coaches. Andy Lonergan and Asmir Begovic represent recent examples of players in that role for us. Some have even spoken about using their time at clubs to gain some additional coaching experience.

Carson probably played a similar role at Man City.

Absolutely.

Definitely a mutual benefit.

Perfect role for older keepers without the 1st team pressure.

Be nice to see how Mark does as backup 1st anyeay if given the chance.

He’s not there either now they’re signing Petrovic
I’m not getting the criticism of him.

Would you want to sit in on the bench at Bournemouth or a founder of the league, nine time champions and with a spanking new stadium in one of the country’s most vibrant cities while learning from one of the best keepers around?

It’s a no brainer.

And to be fair to him, with Kepa leaving (their keeper last season) and Bournemouth immediately going and dropping £25m on another keeper he's probably a bit pissed off with them for not giving him another go.
