Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

People seem to think you just work through your transfers in order of how much you need them.

Doesn't work like that all the time. Some deals will take ages as there's a domino effect from other deals - like a buyers chain in a house purchase. Other deals are just more complicated anyway. Sometimes a player you need/want becomes available quite suddenly.

Loads of moving parts, especially in the PSR age of v carefully managed budgets.

Anyway, we needed at least one reserve goalie and we are getting him. Probably a higher standard one than we've had in a little while, so all fine.

Do we need 3 or 4 more before the season starts? Absolutely, but let's not panic that they haven't all been there for day one of pre-season
If we had got a couple of first team players then there'd be complaints that we needed a back up keeper.

Gotta love the transfer window for all the moaning.

Agree with you mate, I've not been this relaxed during a transfer window as I strongly believe we have the right people in charge. It's crazy how many heads are falling off but I've put this down to a rather immature group perhaps posting child like wum. Reckon we will be in a solid place come close of the window, no panicking just doing most of our work behind the scenes as it should be 👍

I agree but I'm also concerned about the sheer number of bodies needed.

We need 5 more after the keeper I reckon, 3 starters.

Very do-able but we do seem to take a while to get things done, and have a history of scrambling around with last minute deal sheets, so is definitely a concern. Although expressing this concern on a transfer thread on an Everton forum seems to come as a shock to some people.

Mr Moyes seems relaxed. It's when he gets fidgety that it is another matter.

Even since his 1st spell, priorities have changed. It isn't as easy to get top 8 never mind top 4 these days,so he will not be wantng to be throwing himself under the bus, let alone going against what he has now set as fan expectation going forward. He'll know what he needs. He will not be going with what he's got this time around.I have no doubt

The jigsaw may still be figuratively speaking mostly in pieces in the box. The likes of Travers will be a corner piece with Barry and Alcaraz more central. We won't be totally there by the end of next week, but feel we will be a little closer.with confirmations and progress reports 😊

In May, I felt we need 8 new players (so not including Alcaraz). However that was assuming Keane was off. But he stayed. If we can get Travers over the line then we are getting there.

Back up GK
Starting RB,
Back up LB,
4th choice CB,
Ball playing CM,
Starting RW,
Starting ST.
Another forward (preferably can play across front 3 but otherwise backup RW)

Need 5 more. Still getting links for forward/midfield players. Seems a bit quieter for the RB/LB links.
