Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think Travers is a great signing and could be one of our most important ones (hopefully not). We have been very lucky with Pickford and his consistency fitness and performance wise but there are no guarantees that it will be the same case this season or in future seasons.
All you have to do is look across the park and see Kelleher played 10 league games last season and the same in 23/24 season. If needed I think Travers is capable of stepping in and is an upgrade on what we had last season.
To be fair he’s also an upgrade on last seasons RM.

Right winger with a pace and end product is a must . Doucs needs replacing . Right back and some competition for left back as well.

Im hoping after the GK signing, the majority of who we bring in next will be of the intention to be regular starters, better than what we have.

What’s there now , a lot of it can be the squad , let them fight for a place

@Groucho
I don’t think you should be allowed moderate in the transfer thread
You talk sense and as has been proven time and time again , the bed wetting box room transfer virgins can’t comprehend sense
It’s nice to bring joy to these people’s lives, which is otherwise joyless.

As The Cat said on Red Dwarf; “I bring joy to the world, coz I have such a beautiful ass”…..

Exactly.

To listen to some on here, Everton never get injuries and all that matters is the first XI. This is why I am as for this signing as I was against the extension of Keane.

These players will, in all likelihood, play some part in our season. How big a part? Potentially a huge part. We have to be planning for injuries. One of the reasons we have been a dead club for 30 years is because Kenwright failed to find the money for the squad. He was so stretched holding onto the club with his palty resources that the manager was always forced to go for "versatile", i.e., less than brilliant, players who could plug multiple holes. So they were never the specialists we needed - such as a top striker - and were always Jacks of all trades. See Harrison. These new owners have to change that over time.

Would liked to have seen him play regularly next to someone other than carthorse Keane. If he’d had a season next to Tarkowski playing a low block with Mykolenko on the other side I reckon we’d have seen a better player.

Instead it was playing in between Keane and Jonjoe Kenny, or Coleman, or even worse in a back 3 with Keane absolutely miles out of position most of the time.

He didn’t do much at West Brom after he left but he did show some good form for them at wing back on loan first time. And then under Silva for us at one point before the Firmino incident. and then at right back under Ancelotti, but the rest of the time his confidence and decision making got completely destroyed playing next to that elephant and he never recovered.
Lmao. Blaming Holgate’s demise as a footballer on Keane. Embarrassing.

….instead of what? We need another keeper, it’s a necessary acquisition and the better he is the stronger the squad.
Exactly.

And the sooner he is in, the sooner he gets to know how we set up and what he needs to do to slot in with minimum of fuss if Pickford picks up a knock.
