Confirmed Signing Mark Travers

Because @davek reckons, that he`s been brought in to force Pickford out.

It comes as no surprise, that he is in the only one that thinks this though.

However, I think Pickford can sleep easy, as Dave`s last bold prediction on a player was building a team around Kieran Dowell.
His actual football takes are hilarious.

This. People complaining we are spending money we could spend elsewhere. But he improves the squad from last season and that’s the point. we now have a better back up than the previous 3 seasons at a good age but with plenty of experience.
To be fair very few people are actually doing this. A couple of people have mentioned that it's rare for us to spend money like that and that hopefully it's a sign we have more money than expected, but not many people are actually complaining as far as I can see.

Personally I think people are going slightly overboard about his level. He's a typical number number 2 at this level really, which is absolutely fine. I've seen suggestions it's a big step up from previous years which i'm not sure is true. Begovic had just been Championship keeper of the year and had loads of PL experience, Olsen had 50 international caps and was signed from being a regular in Serie A, Robles had just been a number 1 in the PL and won the FA Cup etc. He's about the level I expected us to sign, I just assumed it would be a free rather than paying for someone, but that's not a criticism just an observation.

Pickford will not last forever - This keeper maybe his automatic replacement - if Pickford's reflexes drain he is finished as a keeper , because he is a fantastic reflex shot stopper - not a fantastic all round keeper for controlling his box - catching a hard cross etc - Big Nev had all that in his locker & was able to play on as veteran status as did Nigel Martyn -
Pickford has not got in his locker - as long as he makes fantastic incredible reflexes he is fine - the rest of his game as a keeper in some cases are average at best - that is the difference plus if he was to be injured you need a keeper with Prem experience & that's what Mark Travers has - welcome to our club ...

That's pretty kind to Robles, Al-Habsi was the number 1. Having said that, I believe Robles was the last backup we actually paid a fee for?

Ndiaye, O’brien…your making your money back on Beto
We value these players im not so sure other clubs would be banging our door down for any of the 3 you mentioned.

I said significant value meaning like north of 30mil
