This. People complaining we are spending money we could spend elsewhere. But he improves the squad from last season and that’s the point. we now have a better back up than the previous 3 seasons at a good age but with plenty of experience.

I think the fact that we've paid actual money for a goalie should see him given some game time. I would expect to see him in the League Cup games and probably early FA cup games. And he may also be considered as Pickford's replacement potentially in 2-3-4 years time! Who knows!

Because @davek reckons, that he`s been brought in to force Pickford out.

It comes as no surprise, that he is in the only one that thinks this though.

However, I think Pickford can sleep easy, as Dave`s last bold prediction on a player was building a team around Kieran Dowell.
