2024/25 Nathan Patterson

I can’t see Moyes blocking his way out if an offer comes in.

Think he lost Moyes during the Ipswich game mate.

Think if he had a realistic prospect here we would be nowhere near a new contract for Seamus.

The only thing that maybe could have earned him another crack would be being back at Finch Farm a few weeks before everyone else working, and doing prehab - maybe he was, but i hadn't seen anything on it.

24 in Oct, if it hasn't happened by then it wont.

Yeah, he isn’t a prospect nor one for the future anymore.

Unless Everton want to make a real investment, you're much better off going with Patterson rather than signing someone like Kyle Walker-Peters, who is not an upgrade (despite what a lot of people here are deluding themselves into thinking) and is only marginally better defensively while being less attacking and not nearly as good crossing a ball. It's an underwhelming market for a notoriously difficult position to fill, and a summer training under Moyes will produce a better right back out of Nathan Patterson than anyone else you'd bring in unless you wanted to spend tens of millions on the position.

Right back is surely one of the easier of not easiest position to fill

I’ll grant you that, but I meant to fill properly. Ashley Young was better than Kyle Walker-Peters, and Nathan Paterson can fill the hole. But good luck finding a really decent player in the position who isn’t made of glass right now.

O'Brien says 'hi' and would like to add he 'will pick his teeth with whoever wants to take his position' so you might be right when you say it's
a notoriously difficult position to fill
