Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Just read an older article from a couple of years ago and why the likes of Duran, Asensino, etc are joining there. Much lower tax, massive increase in revenues and fan pressure to sign players, which over extends some clubs but keeps the fans happy. Some clubs then get bailouts from the government despite overspending for example to stop them failing FFP rules and making the fans unhappy. Crazy but apparently true

I think that could be the end of Jimmy if we did get Luiz too. I like Garner but he would be suited to the likes of Forest where he did ok on loan or Bournemouth at this stage . If we went big (relatively for us) on CM and then RW say a Kubo then Fellows as cover later on. Sell Patto and Jimmy. Use our loan spots for the other positions and possibly 1/2 on a free (min of 4 loans in this window) Think that woukd be close to our budget with a nice few £££s coming in for those two. Jimmy the more valuable I'd say to make a profit on with a book value around 6M.

Think that would add up to 3 further signings for a transfer fee, 4 loans and 2 on a free (RB & 3rd striker) after Travers . Sell the 2 lads mentioned and send Chermiti and Armstrong on loan plus Tyrer sale/loan . Would give a squad of 23 or 25 if we can use all 6 loan spots with a very decent home grown quota.

Would that be good enough?

we’d have to hope mate?

garner is “ok”

we need far better nxt to gana

Garner as I say I like and is ok az you say If he was doing what he did against Leicester every week, he's in the team most weeks, but we will rarely play anyone as poorly as that often in the future. Gana definitely needs that creative force alongside him though Agreed.

Well they are all back from holiday next week, apart from those playing at the club world cup.

Whether Rodrygo goes from Real could start some movement later in the window.

We are waiting our place in the pecking order as ever with the right hand side of the team, it will probably be kicked down the road another year now in the hope that we are a better prospect to attract an "Elite" RW.

Rome wasn't built in a day.
Uh oh dont bring Rome into it, its gonna set off dave again
