G.A.A. 2025.

The politicians need to sort this quickly. I understand, as a retired Civil Servant, that there must be regulations in matters pertaining to government of a free democracy, otherwise we would have chaos.

However there seems to be communication issues as to what was clearly required of the organizers in terms of necessary documentation and what was only communicated later.

The appeal is being prepared and must be considered speedily, having due regard to the primary concern of safety of the children.

I hope and pray that this works out well for all concerned.

There is a time and a place for rules and this most certainly isn’t it.

There is a legal maxim that 'hard cases make bad laws'.

I didn't work in DFA, but I can understand the need to have tight regulation of people coming into our country, especially children, so as to ensure some elements do not take advantage for their own nefarious ambitions.

This is a case that needs attention at the top - Secretary General level - to be resolved speedily, having ensured that all that is required is in place, so these lovely victims of aggression can have a magical time playing the sports that they have come to love, in a safe and peaceful atmosphere.

Politicians are quite correct to advocate for them, and to bring the matter to the urgent attention of Government and the citizens of this Republic.

I expect that relevant Ministers will be stressing to the Sec Gen how this must be resolved as a matter of priority, but they should not seek to have the regulatory requirements ignored.

From experience, I know this can be done speedily and to the satisfaction of all decent people concerned.

Thankfully we don't have idiots building bonfires down here.

Here's hoping!

If it isn’t resolved immediately then expect a full Israeli PR campaign that Ireland is just all bluff and hot air. End it today and let those people experience our welcome and games in some much needed safety.

Kerry won pulling up against Tyrone yesterday - glad in a way the Dubs weren't there as I think we would be well beaten, and perhaps hurt morale going forward.

As previously posted, Dessie did the right thing to call it a day and he also has two All Irelands- that is an achievement no one should forget.

Today's other semi final sees Donegal leading Meath by 4 after about 43 minutes. Meath have come out looking more energetic than in the first half.
....

Ah...goal Donegal then a point.!

8 in it now.

Going to be a ding dong final - bath teams were very impressive in their games.

Hard to call! (But hopefully Donegal).

Have a feeling Jimmy's winning matches will have a trap for Kerry, he's a good tactician.
