Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

You have absolutely lost the plot. You 1000% said time is free(such as time spent finding info) and if you cant be honest about what you said, you cant expect anyone to take your seriously.

No one is forcing anyone to pay, they chose to because they see value in it, and the real issue is you are here whining that some person has decided to happily work at something and charge for it and other people happily pay for his time. If it takes zero time to do what he does, then there is LITERALLY no excuse for you then to do it for free so that other people dont have to pay. But you wont, because you dont have time for it.

Right, go back and highlight where i said time is free.

Then realise you're talking wham and what i said is "information he gets for free".

My issue with the him charging money for info is it incentivises him to embelish or possible make up information to enhance his product. Like what were seeing with romano and i personally dont agree with charging fellow blues for said information to begin with.

These are my personal opinions on the matter but im not starting a witch hunt on the lad. He can do what he wants and i can think what I like on the matter.

Now can you please stop crashing out in real time and stop derailing the transfer thread by bringing up dead topics about former members of this forum. Thank you

Back on topic is the roumors about luiz a loan or transfer and would people be happy if it was the €10m loan fee with a €25m option to buy? Or €30 transfer fee now?

Yeah, Italy is odd, sometimes they report wages as after tax. If that's the case here then his wages are completely out of our reach for us. Who knows, though. If his reported wages are after tax then I can't see him moving anywhere other than the Saudi league as nobody else could afford them.
Excellent point. Shame if he priced himself put of a move to a top league of his salary is quoted as net. There is more transparency on players salaries these days but there are times you still have to say is it this or is it that? 😊

Every signing is a risk. He did the business at Villa and didn't perform at Juve. You have to gamble that you're signing the Villa version. If he had performed at Juve he'd be out of our reach.
Agreed. But we actually don't have to gamble that amount. £140k a week is a big risk for a club in our position. What if we get the Juve version and he's ineffective? We won't be able to sell him while he's on those wages and it'll be Doucs Mk2. I'd need to know more than I do about why there's been such a difference in his impact recently before taking that gamble.

That's about £140k a week. It's doable, I suppose, but is the sort of thing we've been moving away from. Cracking player, though.
I'm not sure it is doable, he is a good player,no doubt, but, I don't think he is good enough to come in as our highest earner. I imagine that would open a Pandora's box with regard to our senior players salaries, should he come in and break our wage structure. You also have to bear in mind that, as he plays in Italy, that could be his nett wage quoted, rather than his gross, that's the usual thing in Italy.

Depends who else we're looking at, I suppose. I'm not totally against Douglas Luiz at that price, I'd be very much up for signing him at £100k a week, but it would have a knock on effect, you would have to think, on the rest of our business this summer. However, if it was Douglas Luiz at €25m and £140k a week or someone like Sean Longstaff at £15m and £80k a week then it's Douglas Luiz one hundred times out of a hundred. He's only 27 and, if he regains his Villa form, could be a key player for us for the next five years.

I think he's a quality player and would be ok with him being our highest earner. I agree, though, that his wage seems on the higher end but we have to be realistic about the sort of players we can attract and do have to carefully balance our opportunities and our balance sheet. If we can get Douglas Luiz then I would say that is a good opportunity.

I talked about the strange Italian wage reporting earlier but I would be surprised if Douglas Luiz is on >€300k a week gross at Juve. He's a good player but that is elite player money. Football is crazy now, however, so who knows. If he really is on that wage then it's Saudi for him as I don't see another European club paying him that much.
