It would be nice. In the Dauphine, he was stronger in the TT, but struggled in the mountains. Here, he got thrashed in the TT. It doesn't bode well.
As said, I dont expect a change of leadership now, but Vingegaar is in great shape. Even in the first week of this 3 week race Pogacar on climbs on a stage that looks suited to his style hasn't looked like he could drop Vingegaar in the same way he could in the recent Dauphine on similar terrain.

What I do expect is for Visma to hand Pogacar an almighty fright in the high Alps and Pyrenees stages.

Pardon me, but when did you become such a cycling aficionado?

I think Ventoux is probably first up isn't it?

Pogs been sandbagging. Fully expect him to go nuclear in the mountains. It may only be 1 stage to get enough time to ride defensively after with the Vuelta in mind.

I haven't seen anything from Jonas to suggest he can match him on climbs. We haven't seen any stages like the Crit Daup yet...

Pyrenees first.

If it's still close by next Saturday - after the very steep uphill TT on Friday - the brutal stage into Superbagneres (which includes the ascent of the Tourmalet) should, you would think, give Visma a great opportunity to mug Pogacar if it's going to happen at all.
