Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We have always been hard to please. Maybe rightfully so but sometimes we are wrong.

I remember seeing us lose 2-0 at the old Filbert Street in autumn 1983 age 17 taking a break from A-level preparation. Our less than massive away following in a pathetic 10k or so crowd gave dogs abuse to a team including Southall Bailey Ratcliffe Sheedy Steven Heath Sharp and Harper, Richardson, King and Higgins.

Walking out of the ground the talk was of firing the manager, relegation and selling the young players who were “nowhere near good enough” as my cousin loudly told everyone. It wasn’t outrageous because we were truly awful that day. We were still tripe about three months later when Kevin Brock hit that perfect pass. Just over half a year after that Leicester debacle we saw them lift the FA Cup.

I always keep all of this in mind when I see fans on here writing off transfer targets and saying we should sell current ones. We love our club and to varying degrees we understand the game but none of us know as much as Moyes and his staff or the other recruitment and analytics professionals. A little humility goes a long way. A little patience goes even further. It is way too early to panic about our squad.

Of course, yet tweet everything when I could just deactivate and hide behind a pay wall. Would make life a lot easier!
Wouldn't reel in as many idiots eager to be parted with their money then.

Congratulations you're like the fella handing out free samples of smack to generate new customers.

Or do you do it for the altruism? You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Do what you like but you open yourself to well-deserved criticism for pay-walling info to blues.

I tweet an awful lot when I could just deactivate. The podcast is an Everton Channel that covers a wide range of stuff including my bits. That’s all. What’s the issue? It’s no different to any other football content.

I come on here to defend myself from the same 6/7 people who think it’s ok to throw abuse or spin narratives for no apparent reason. I’ve read so many lies on here that it’s an absolute disgrace at times.

Regarding why I don’t reply a lot is because I have a family, a job, a 6 month old baby and time is important. I read an awful lot and choose to sometimes pipe up when things are becoming out of order. I don’t see any other journalist (who all sit behind paywalls) or ITK getting the abuse or same questions labelled at them as I do and I still tweet an awful lot of information on Twitter when I could just not bother.

Anyway, got nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything is my motto and on that note I hang my hat up on this forum and won’t be coming on again. I have always tried to be civil on here and polite but won’t be wasting my time any further.
Mamba out
