Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Thats my point, he obviously gets info im not denying that. But now hes under pressure to produce "content" aka insider info.

Which leads to a situation where he has no real information from everton and has to produce content. Which is where i start doubting his authenticity.

You're obviously into the lad which is fine but i just dont agree with charging fans of your own club for things you get for free. Also seeing whats happened with fab Romano when he has had to produce content doesnt leave mebwith alot of hope for the bobble

Ah right I get you - Wait and see on that, then. I don't care about him either way. I take everything he shares with a pinch of salt because there are a million different moving parts to a transfer and several differing motivations behind the info that is leaked out. Just find it odd the flak he's getting for not really doing much wrong. We pay for information and other services all the time - if you live in Liverpool, it's quite likely you're buying it off an Everton fan - so not sure why it matters that either side of the transaction are blues.

Would like to see The Esk and the Eskimoes versus Bobble and the Bobilites on the battlefield.

One doesn’t charge for his podcasts / writings and wants what’s best for Everton fc ,the other charges Everton fans for leaked info and enjoys selfies with bill Kenwright and Josh wander

Something about Douglas Luiz for me, strikes me as the type to down tools and beg for a move after 6months.
Not bothered one bit about Douglas Luiz here. Let him join West Ham or whoever gets his signature. Been reading a lot of that Hayden Hackney for the last few days and he's someone who got my attention. A lot cheaper option and a few years younger. That's the path we should follow imo.

Sorry you've just totally changed your position there.

My post was referring to you saying that if you dont agree with what the bobble is doing then you can't agree with the likes or ornstien or joyce.

I was just pointing out the differences between those journalists you mentioned.

Now you're talking about all journos and just saying you dont trust any of them anyway apart from the bobble.

Which is fair enough but just isnt what you original posted about.
I can see the confusion so let me clear it up. Again, i don't care who gives the info so long as it's reliable. The likes of Ornstien etc chose thier route & getting a job high up in media was probably a goal for them when they went into higher education. The Bobble is doing his route. They are all chasing money though as they don't do it for free. How they get that money though I don't really care about so whether it's through a patreon, through 'free media' but surrounded by adverts or through a newspaper online subscription or the good old way of buying your local rag for 20p that's covered in adverts.

The end goal is the same. Bobble is trying to earn the same way Ornstien etc is trying to earn as are all journo's. For the more reliable guys it drives traffic to thier given media outlets which again drives advertising or subscriptions etc. For the bad journalists it means having to be sensationalist with misleading headlines to drive traffic to sucker in he gullible.

That's why I said about hating the system rather than the individual. They just have different ways of coming to the same outcome. Money & engagement. If the fundamentals of what they are selling is the same then it's really no different. If the Bobble got a job at the Telegraph it doesn't make him any more or less reliable but now he earns a wage with the exact same level of info he has now.

To be even clearer, I do value the likes of Ornstien above the Bobble though. Quite simply he has a longer history of being correct or at least speaking about something that is actually going on rather than the usual made up guff we have to wade through on a daily basis with most media sites. The Bobble seemingly doesn't put guff in our face either & in time with ever more reliability will earn a reputation within the Everton fanbase for generally speaking the truth. That obviously goes up in smoke if he starts chatting wham which i currently don't think he does & i like that he doesn't go too early or overplay a situation unlike many other journo's who post similar stuff at the same time. It is always sensible though to take anything with a dollop of salt with all journo's until the club actually announce it.

Hopefully that clears up my position.

Much like the previous discussion on 'lp' I am never sure when people reference the above are they refering to Al (Myers) or to AI(chatgpt)? Can someone under 60 help an old man out here?
Yeah, this kind of stuff always confuses me.

When I was a kid, 'PC' meant police constable. So when I hear the expression 'PC gone mad' It conjures up some weird images.
As a young man, 'PC' then meant personal computer. So 'PC gone mad' was my excuse when caught with any 'Not Safe For Work' material.

Oh, and I turned 60 last month. Can't help you mate.

Back on topic, sign a right winger* please.

West Ham don't have a PSR issue at all.

Cash flow is the problem they have. They have been hawking a percentage of the club around to get some cash into the club.

Thanks for the heads up on that.

Just checked and it's one of several issues they might face if they do not get that cash injection as they are not allowed the 105m losses over 3 year buffer without it either. They are not technically over their reduced allowed per season net losses of 15M per year yet. However, they may be if the reported 85m recent year loss to June is reported in their accounts in December including their big player amortisation bill and the squad cost ratio compliance requirements too. They'll probably be ok at the 11th hour again, but they won't be doing the Luiz deal if it would also harm Bowen's recent new deal if he's been given any promises about remaining top earner on 150K

Ps I would have Bowen every day of the week too
