2024/25 Nathan Patterson

Yeh I'm on the downward trend of optimism myself. Probably see him starting in the pre-season games with Tarks and Branthwaite's returns from injury so can see more then.
Same. Wanted him to do well and he showed there was something there for a bit under Lampard.

We are clearly after a RB based of the Tete approach so I imagine he moves on when we sign one. Probably best for both parties at this point.

Signing young players (him, Chermiti etc) when we did hasn’t helped them. Crap relegation managers and the club in total disarray meaning we can’t give them the game time and their development stagnates.

I know it’s easy to write him off, but the lad has had a rough ride with injuries, and coming into a club that is there worst run in any top flight. I think we can only judge him with a proper pre season, in a well organised side, in a well run club. None of that has happened before for him.If he doesn’t kick on now, it’s time to judge.
That is very charitable of you but I doubt if it is correct.

Certainly the club was a basket case but the one thing that kept us in the Premiership was our defence.

Even though we couldn't score, we didn't concede either and we had a forty year old playing ahead of NP.

Davek is wrong about an awful lot of things..probably most things , however he called this from the start and I think he was probably right.

There’s nothing for me to be wrong about mate if you read it through. I’m not saying he will do well, I’m just saying that any judgement should be made when he’s fit, and in a well organised team. Time will tell.

That moment when you laugh at another blue, only to realise you agree with Davek!😂

Do you what id’ve done with him. Played him right wing last season and see what happened.

….never understood this view, he shows no quality to go past players, nothing extraordinary in his attacking play or in possession and no threat in final third.

I’m all for wingers who aren’t quite good enough being tried at full back (Stan Mills) but never a poor full back being considered a top flight winger. It’ll be just like having two full backs playing on the right flank.

Yep I’m not saying he’s a star in the making. I’m saying the competition was really poor, both on loan and failing to warrant a permanent transfer so why not give him a go and if he fails then fine, but at least you know either way.

….competition was poor but conventional wingers were still a better option. The only way a manager would consider using him there would be in a game management situation, bringing him on to protect a lead if the opposition have real threat on their left, but even then he’s high risk.
