Glad to see him go for that sort of money. You’ll struggle to find many CFC fans who are sad to see him go. He’s too flaky for us and I suspect the same will apply at Arsenal. Of course you are entitled to think differently.
Football careers are short, MGW gets an offer from a CL side he is going to want to go - realistically he isn’t going to get that at Forest.Agents having a field day with these release clauses. I mean i'm of the opinion if a player wants to go there's little point in keeping them but for the selling club it immediately takes away any negotiating. Maybe 60m at the time seemed high for gibbs white and nobody would touch him at that price. But Forest have had to sit on their hands and do nothing. Cant do anything more to the point. Are these clauses fully implemented by Agents? And are they common knowledge or has the agent tipped off levy in this example.
Will there come a point where every club just goes ok the release clause is 800m.
To think on the flip (good) side though, that's 6 points guaranteed for the RS against Brentford considering the amount of ex-players there (4 now I think including Henderson).Henderson off to Brentford. Annoying, as I think he offered exactly what we need.
We can be quite ideological at times, and it looks like we’re really pressing ahead with the youth policy.
I just don’t understand why Arsenal keep buying Chelsea’s hand me downs - how many have gone onto have great careers at Arsenal?Flakey in comparison to the other 17 wingers you have who scored 7 goals last season?
Current Chelsea model is to flip players though. So £20mill profit on a player your bought for £30mill is decent.
I don't think there's anyone apart from Palmer in that 56 man squad youd be sad to let go to be fair.
Palmer, of course, although our late season recovery was not remotely dependent upon him. He was almost incidental. Here are those I’d be sad to see go:Flakey in comparison to the other 17 wingers you have who scored 7 goals last season?

The clause gives him that out option and I’ve no doubt his agent has been having quiet words about it given he is on CL clubs radars currently.
Clubs have the 1 year extension in contracts to protect player value, relegation clauses, etc - it’s only right the players have similar. The problem here is that it was set too low - but then Eze’s is only £8m more
Was just coming here to post exactly the same.Henderson didn’t want to announce his transfer to Brentford out of respect for Jota, I’m sorry what?
Definitely, Forest could be in amongst it as well now. You can tell the “other 14” did well last year as they are getting the guts ripped out of them this summer - although it should be “other 13” as Newcastle can’t be preyed upon anymore.
Wolves, Forest, Burnley, West Ham, Leeds, Sunderland, Brentford and Bournemouth - that’s your bottom 8 I think. Everton and Palace have good managers so will be mid table/pushing Europe. Fulham are well equipped for mid table. Then the rest fighting it out for the top spots with Brighton to fall short like they usually do
@SAFCInPeace Would you have wanted Henderson? I must admit that when I heard he was leaving Ajax I simply assumed that he was joining Sunderland.
I’m a Spurs fan not Everton. I don’t see Everton having any problems though, Moyes running Everton well on a budget goes together like Laurel and Hardy, Morecambe and Wise, etc.Obviously yous are going to disagree, but I think at this point in time if you have Forest in there you have to have yourselves and Palace as well. You lost so many players in the summer and haven't really replaced them yet. Palace have european football (probably) and a tiny squad - and could well lose Eze.
I think the likes of West Ham, Forest, Bournemouth, Palace and yourselves have the spending power (and presitigue) to bring in good squads though. So I await the end of the window to really make judgements.
I think it’s just standard these days and a follow on from the Bosman ruling. It’s mandatory to have a buy out clause in Spain - that’s how PSG got Neymar.I get all that but what benefit is there to the selling club. When gibbs white signed from wolves the agent must have put the buy out clause in. No doubt Forest will probably use it on some other club. Same with all clubs. If its there and it benefits them they'll use it. But it seems all agent driven. So you might aswell set a ridiculous price as insurance. But then would gibbs whites agent have accepted that when he was signing for forest from wolves.
I suppose every club uses it so no real sympathy for forest. But Agents are holding a great hand.
Above Spurs again, or does your patronising head patting not extend to self reflection?I’m a Spurs fan not Everton. I don’t see Everton having any problems though, Moyes running Everton well on a budget goes together like Laurel and Hardy, Morecambe and Wise, etc.
They will be tough to beat and with the new stadium opposing teams will be unsettled. Comfortably mid table I think
What world is player that left that club over a year ago joining a club in the south got anything to do with Jota? Honestly not asking a contentious question, is it?Was just coming here to post exactly the same.
Proper Main Character behaviour.
