Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Given our disastrous record in signing poor vfm overpaid residents of the treatment room, I welcome an approach of festina lente.

The window is open until 1 September, but I do want our 25/26 squad to be essentially signed and settled in place before 18 August.

The next two weeks should see real progress or I will be concerned.

All this talk/ moaning about taking too much time to sign players is bonkers. Didn’t you all learn as a child that when you got your pocket money not to run straight to the sweet shop and spend it on the first thing you saw?!!
Agree. We are only very light in AM / wingers area = no real back ups for Alcarez, Mc Neil and N'Diaye. No real back up at LB (Patterson ???) and in goal.

If we are looking to fill 3 or 4 loan spots then that business is more likely to come after kickoff and into the final days of the window.

The week between the community shield and PL kickoff also tends to be very lean for business.

I'm thinking at this stage that we'll get another 3, max 4, in ahead of kickoff. Backup GK might be next.

A little concerning about comments on next week being a "lull" but it's not like we can't sign 2 players in a day, or 3 in a week.

The likes of Wolves, Forest, Brentford, W Ham have lost / losing players for big money and that shakeup is likely to intensify activity as a whole over the next fortnight.

Our issue is that we can't be aggressive with bids and have to stretch out negotiations to extract full value. We can't drop £115m on two players in a day like Spurs, and many hope we can complete with them this year. When you have that spending power you can dictate the pace of things. It also means that the competition for players from those teams making big sales (to some degree) might make our task more difficult.

If it is 8 players in, then I'd like 6/8 by kickoff but I think it might be 4 or 5 max by then and the final week will need to be a very busy one for loans.

I think we will end up with one more big money,20-30m, right midfield signing and the rest will be free or loans.

42m spend so far and I think the max we can hit is 70m mark without being financially reckless.

That's not big money.

We are being outspent by tinpot dross clubs like Spurs, Newcastle and Villa. They drop 50m on bench players.

Spurs are dropping 50m plus on kudos, 60m on Gibbs White.

We are so far behind thanks to Bill and his pss poor running of this club for a decade.

For those crying arsing over how long transfers allegedly take you need to take into account the idea that we learn about them so much earlier now because of social media which can appear to make them drag on.

Also this load of old s@#& that other teams do them quicker that'll because you're not scouring the internet for updates on them every two minutes, so they effectively appear to move quicker.

Also every deal is different some are quicker than others. It's likely our lot have got multiple on the go atm so it's whichever comes to fruition first.

Personally I hope Mark Travers is next just for the amusement of the amount of bed wetting that will ensue 🤣

'Ugh back up keeper we need a right winger!' MAN BABIES 🤣

Let’s be honest, the Barry deal has been done early compared to other windows. Usually you get one in early and the ball gets rolling, off on pre season tour in 10 days(?) and I would say we’ll have a minimum of one more in by then.
Certain positions should take precedence over others but that’s the nature of the beast.
I’m sure before kickoff in 5 weeks we’ll look a lot stronger.

With Nottingham Forrest selling Elanga and Gibbs-White, they are being linked with all the same players in the RW and AM area that we are being linked with. I just hope what ever happens, happens quickly and we don’t end up drawn out transfer sagas and us paying over the odds for players.

Starting to get concerned about this rebuild we are supposed to be doing, very quiet on bids, made contract offers to Young Coleman Keane, possibly Harrison 😮‍💨

looks very likely to be last minute scramble again come Aug 31st when the season is a couple of weeks in.

Come on TFG give us a glimmer of hope 🙏

Isn't the signing of a striker just two days ago, in early July, providing that glimmer of hope?

I fully expect Richarlison to Everton links to ramp up in the next few weeks. With Kudus and MGW on their way to Spurs, they are really stacked in the forward areas.
I hope so . I know I’m in the minority but I would love him back . I understand he has some fitness issues but I don’t think he will cost a lot and I think they will actively look to get shot of him . A cheeky loan maybe .

You think there was a possibility that Dyche left on his own volition? 😂 Dyche had no intent to leave , the sparse budget he had while managing Everton was much more than he ever had at Burnley along with being involved a club with significant history. What is your point other than the fact you are skilled at whinging?
My point is that we were promised change, and this is not happening fast enough. Our fans have suffered battling with relegation in the last few seasons. Before we had an excuse to be slow, inefficient with zero accountability...now that excuse is not valid anymore as we are told we have competent people in charge, that now there is accountability. It seems that we are taking longer to negotiate now than before...Gana's contract extension is the perfect example...wanted 2 years, we offered one...for weeks nothing until we finally giving...not good enough
