Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I agree with this, but I do think the club did the right thing here; we can sort out the upcoming centre back next summer when there’s much less to do / spend money on.

If we weren’t looking for so many players this season, I think we’d have binned Keane and gone for a young prospect.
I get the logic of it,but the plain truth in the Prem is if you stand still you go backwards. I know we don't have the pulling power of City and Chelsea etc. But we could very well need a replacement for both Tarkowski and Gueye at the season end, this was the opportunity to get a young player who can play DM and CB and bed him in for next season.

Paddy Boyland on the Travers train

He's OK

Would be an excellent option back up, throw is your stereotypical 3rd choice 36 year old good trainer and we have a goalkeeping team

Forster or Fabianski probably

We had 1 left back, 1 striker plus Chermiti, 0 functional right backs and 0 right wingers. In an ideal world we'd replace them all but we can't fix everything in one go, it's impossible, so priority decisions needed to be made. Barry looks like a good start to our spending.
