Non League Football

Looks gloomy if they are to have no senior side?

Yes and no.

The previous owner, Barthorpe had them playing in Buxton last year. He lied about the ground so theyve not played at home in a year, they'd have to play away all of next season again.

They may aswell keep costs down and allow the club to get Throtles Nest in order.

They're now owned by ex-Goalkeeper David Stockdale, so one step back, hopefully two steps forward.

Fingers crossed. They are a famous non league name so I hope they return.

The big problem Non League has now, is that its growing in popularity, but also professionalism.

Costs in even step 5 are extortionate. Marine got quoted £1,100 a week for someone very recently.

The amount of professional clubs k. The pyramid is growing at a intense rate.

I think the National League North will feature 4 full time sides, and 12 Hybrid teams next season. Chelmsford just agreed a 7-Figure sponsorship over 3 years... which is higher than a a lot of league clubs.

But everything is run on fine margins, and things like stadium agreements with councils and decisions to rip up pitches like what's happened with Farsley, Widnes can be catastrophic.

Big PL clubs have big legal teams to fight councils, sides like Widnes dont.

National League fixtures out today, which i caused Marine, Southport & Chester.

Marine with a nice short trip to South Shields to start the season, followed shortly after by a trip to Merthyr Tydfil on a a Tuesday Night.

Southport H on boxing day will text the capacity, with the return on good Friday. Both Chester games disappointingly on a Tuesday night.

Possibly, or maybe the fact that they've been taken over today by Qatari investors, who might have possibly offered him loads of mazuma might have something to do with it.
Could well be, when he played in France last year he reckoned it cost him twice as much to get there than what they were paying him, he was getting less than the minimum wage so he had to be employed as a part timer

Nice write-up about MSB Woolton

I will see them this season at Thornton Cleveleys FC who I am a sponsor of.

Was down there yesterday watching a pre-season friendly. Won 1-0 v Uppermill from the Manchester league.
