Art

Went to see the Jim Moir exhibition last week, he is a talented artist. Strange thing, for me, as I am a lover of colour, my favourite exhibits were his pencil sketches of birds on fence posts.

I'm always taking pictures of birds (although the swifts darting around the hotel we're currently staying at are virtually impossible to capture in focus) and used to like watching Painting Birds with Jim and Nancy, not least because of the locations it introduced me to. Great to see that the exhibition lasts until November because Mrs TT and I plan to come up Liverpool for a long weekend before then.

Like Jim I only paint and draw pictures of birds I've photographed myself so I was pleased to capture this shot of a bluejay when in Bristol TN in April. Particularly because of the nesting material picked up from the foot of the sweet gum tree in the garden.

Not exactly a rare site but I was pleased to get this shot of a crow from 45 yards.
