There's an irony here.

Once the best Italian players were paid part subsidised by the car firms which owned the clubs.

Now the car firms are all either bust or penniless and have sold up to you know who, the players are following the money at source and sign on with the petrol chemical firms instead.

Obviously I know he’s probably liked far more in other corners of the internet than here .

But local boy, fan of the club, who’s won it all - we have a very very young squad and having that leadership will be invaluable (and just general professionalism).

I’d fully expect him to come on low wages as well. If he’s asking for big wages he can f off in my eyes, surely as a fan he’s made his money at his age and knows that money can be better spent on attracting others to our club.

Talk online that West Ham and Leeds fancy him as well as ourselves. But I just don’t see him picking them over us.
