2024/25 Jack Harrison

£75k seems really excessive. The no fee/full wage deal the past two seasons likely had PSR benefits for both clubs.

Everton might have paid more with a typical loan fee plus a 50/50 wage split or similar, and Leeds might have been too close to the line with profit and loss if they took a fee so close to his book value. It was a good enough deal for both sides under the constraints, with Everton needing bodies with minimal money to spend, and Leeds being obligated to let him go on loan but having put themselves in a precarious spot with a bad contract.

If Harrison really wants to get it done, he has to do some soul searching and accept a very steep pay cut, with sensible performance bonuses. He has to be paid like a hardworking backup who hasn't scored in three years.

Disagree mate, if he came on a free or a nominal hes a sub 5 mill player annually in cost, if its any higher it wont be done and frankly the reason why it would be attractive is the value proposition. Getting a player who has played 30+ games for you the season before on the open market is value in the PL, which is why i suggest we are interested.

Historically he had a clause in hi contract that he could activate, he could choose where he went on loan without a fee as long as his wages were covered - so loan fees didnt come into it.

I dont know if we wil do it and it wont be a popular choice, but i can 100% understand why we would be interested and why it would e a live option, hes a utility player, able to play a number of roles and can play that hybrid role supporting the full back. In isolation its what no body would pick - but im not looking at recruitment this summer in isolation - im looking at it as squad building, he forms part of the infrastructure of the squad or part of the layers i think we will build as opposed to being wither out starting 7., 10 or 11. He has a niche we will need in certain games and at certain times of the season.

Don't like polls, think they're really disheartening & only reflect a tiny, tiny, tiny proportion of the fan base.
I agree with what you say, but I still think they serve a purpose in the debate in here.

Don't be too disheartened by polls, a thick skin and a pinch of salt should be the standard approach most to social media posts.

It's only a quick visual to gauge the depth of opinion on GOT.

Thanks, yes you're right, I'm just a bit mardy today :)
Think I'll go out for a bit!
