G.A.A. 2025.

Good refreshing honesty from Ó Ceallacháin.

Hopefully the squad sticks together, all learn from this, and come back again to fight another day.

What doesn't kill me makes me stronger.

Great match but now a stupid second yellow for McCarthy and Tipp down to 14 men, Kilkenny one ahead, 8 minutes normal time.

Cork looking much stronger than either of these.

Should Carey have walked? Delivered chop down on the helmet/ face guard.

Level.

Mrs BR is hitting every puck and can't sit down. Nearly went into the television as Tipp go ahead. 😃😀

Goooooollllllazzzzzo Tipp!!

Mrs BR gone mad.

4 points ahead in added time....Tipp defence block real goal chance for KK.

Now 3 points, 2 1/2 minutes added time

God bless Seán. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

How many knew he was actually born in Wicklow - Glenealy I think. @dublinbluenose @Armaghtoffee
@Neiler

I met him at the end of 2008 when he eS helping out in his son's pub on the edge of Greystones. My dear Dad was on his way out of this life and I was staying with the Ma most of that December.

All three now departed, RIP.

Was that the now defunct short lived pub near the Irish rail car park in Greystones? The Woodland or Woodbank something or other?

Seán was a gentle giant. I wouldn't like to have come up against him on the pitch.

I remember having pints on and off with Willie Duggan and his hands were enormous. When he grabbed his pint it disappeared from view BEFORE he drank it ! 🙂

Correct. Wood.... something or other.

I met him some later in the pub in Glenealy. My Ma was in an ICA amateur drama comp in the hall and I slipped out at the interval.

Can't remember his connection with that bar - maybe the son moved there after Greystones.

I have a vague memory of him being involved in that pub now that you sat it. It was a couple of ex-garda involved. Someone from Eire Og in Greystones mentioned it too me I think.

Massively sad news, there is something really poignant seeing the greats from Heffos army moving on, giants of men in their day, tough as nails and probably the fittest team in Ireland ever - mo more then The Doc = ushering in that great Dublin and Kerry rivalry era from the 70s onwards.

Sean was born in Wicklow, but made the Dub grade in a new era for Dublin, when only Dubs were picked for Dublin. Represented the County when it was unfashionable to do and contributed and catapulted to superstardom with advent of Heffo army, when GAA took root in the the capital in e early 70s, it at last became a game for Dubs and loved by Dubs. The Doc as he became known captained the Dubs in what became known as the decade of the Dbs. and the height of the great rivalry of the great Dublin team of he 70s and great Kerry team of the 70 & 80s.

He played his club game with Ballyboden when they were wanders before and after they joined with St Endas, later going to play and manage St Annes.

Never met him but be close to people who have and said he was a gent, believe he owned the Merry Plough Boy at one stage.

R.I.P. Sean "The Doc" Doherty, your legacy lives on, remember and revered wherever Sky Blue is worn.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

The politicians need to sort this quickly. I understand, as a retired Civil Servant, that there must be regulations in matters pertaining to government of a free democracy, otherwise we would have chaos.

However there seems to be communication issues as to what was clearly required of the organizers in terms of necessary documentation and what was only communicated later.

The appeal is being prepared and must be considered speedily, having due regard to the primary concern of safety of the children.

I hope and pray that this works out well for all concerned.
