This is very interesting. Comparison with Wharton at Palace who is very highly rated. Going off that they look different kind of players so not entirely sure why they’re being compared. But Hackney looks to lack in the defensive areas of the game so would need a defensive midfielder next to him. He excels at the forward parts of a midfielder though, progressive carries and passes in particular. Boro fans rave about him, always a good sign.

If we managed to bring in this lad, or Shea Charles or Lennon Miller I'd be excited.

Or two of three. Be building something special especially if Harrison Armstrong develops this season.

Hackney changed agent recently. The new guy is sitting down with any club willing to give him a coffee and talking up his guy to any reporter needing a gap filler or tweet. Doing his job well in fact but I’m fairly sceptical of the link given where the stories are coming from. Only Porto have shown real interest and they won’t meet Boro’s fee demand.

So after Barry is hopefully done and dusted still some work to be done: RB, RW, LB, LW, CM and at least 1 goalie are needed. All a bit depending on what the future holds for Armstrong, Tyrer and Chermiti.

So Coufal, Fellows, Tagliafico, ? (dare not type Harrison), Brownhill and Fabianski

Be interesting to see how many of these rock up. At least one or two I reckon.
