Can't believe that anyone thinks John McGinn doesn't improve our squad. If he joined us, he walks into the team, gives us 3 years of tough tackling, great passing. Gets round the pitch well.

Was the star player in game against PSG just a few months ago.

He has been club captain of team that made the strides that we are looking to make. He is a massive character with a great temperament.

There will not be many Villa fans who would be happy with him going. I am sure that if was French / Brazilian / etc etc we would view him differently.

Barry was hardly a natural athlete. Experience taught him that pulling someone down at the half way line for a yellow card was far less hassle that trying to catch them running at goal.

Just because we're not redecorating the walls with baby gravy at the thought (is that you, Sam?), that doesn't mean he's not ok with some us, I'd just rather see McAtee in.

If he was a 31 year old Brazilian or whatever else I wouldnt want him for a transfer fee thats above £5mil. It makes no sense.

We need to be building a new team for the future.

….looked like he’d gone backwards for Villa in the 2nd half of the season, very surprised how poor he was when I watched him. Possibly carrying an injury but looked slow and overweight.
