Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi folks. It's been a lovely day here. We've had Frankie all day - Mummy and Daddy went fishing. Well Daddy fished, Mummy watched and went to the cafe to get the teas in! It was an early start- they dropped him off at 6.30am. He was so good - he's such a happy little soul.
I think I am going to go back to work on Friday. That will be a shock to the system. 🤣 I've got an appointment with the GP on Thursday when my sick note runs out so I'll see what he says. My boss has already agreed a phased return so I'll only be doing short days anyway to start with.
How's the new laptop @Terrarian Living up to your expectations?

Bit of a loose end this afternoon, thinking about a recent conversation with an old friend who is not in the best of health. I thought maybe we should be doing things before we become too decrepit, so I’ve booked a week in Wells, a short break in York and a Sportsbreak for Everton v Crystal Palace, of course that may be subject to change and I will be gutted.

I hope they don’t change it we’ve got friends coming up from London (one is a Palace fan).
I’m definitely feeling that way right now too. Can’t wait to get back to booking a holiday or two. I’ve always fancied going to Wells and having a look at the cathedral..

I’m on the same page G, I’ve lost a few close friends in the last few years , we are traveling a lot at the moment
You have to enjoy it while we can we don’t know what’s around the corner.
We are off to Nova Scotia in 4 weeks for a wedding, never been our East so looking forward to it, you can’t take $$$ it with you and if you can afford it enjoy life to its fullest.

Forgot about Wells next the sea 🤦‍♀️
A few years ago our daughter and SIL took the girls to Wells for the day. I thought it was a bit optimistic, the forecast wasn’t great, with a brisk NW wind blowing. We got a FaceTime from them huddled in a beach shelter. Rach couldn’t understand it, sunny spells and warm temperatures according to her app. You do realise there are two places called Wells don’t you? Apparently she didn’t! I hope if she ever books a holiday in St. Ives she doesn’t make the same mistake as she’s in for a major disappointment.😂

Just watched Hidden Figures @blue1948 - what a good film we really enjoyed it thank you.
It is a brilliant film. Have you watched Made In Dagenham- based on the true story of how a group of female Ford workers took strike action for equal pay with their male counterparts. Their actions resulted in the Equal Pay Act. It is very funny and well worth a watch.
