Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Just hoping that the links to Douglas Luiz and Kubo shows we are after some quality as the idea of Josh Brownhill and that ferret Harrison scares me
The harrison one does for me would be ok if it was mcatee, kubo/doak or whatever then harrison on a free as the backup. Still not really sold on it tho, brownhill the same if it was bought in with another so we could loan out tim and armstrong

It didn’t set up in the way you’re talking about though, which is surely the pertinent point? The idea of Moyes picking a midfield 3 in which 2 of the 3 are ostensibly attacking players seems very unlikely based on everything we know about him. Nobody thinks he wouldn’t play Alcaraz and Mcatee at all, just that he wouldn’t play them in the way you’re suggesting.
I just looked at our team v Fiorentina at home and we lined up with Arteta, Carsley, Osman and Pienaar in midfield and AJ and Yakubu up front.

We also lined up with Arteta, Cahill, Carsley, Osman and Piennar in midfield routinely throughout that season.

Yeah I’m not sure cherry picking a knockout European game that we were 2 0 down on aggregate in is quite the flex you might think there but no worries.

Yeah. I don’t subscribe to every attacking player needing to able to beat a player and supply a killer cross 90% of the time. Some games need to be more pragmatic and some points in games need us to shut up shop. I think Brownhill and Harrison whilst different both fill that mould as does Young (who I would not rule out coming back late on).

I general though we need a goal scorer !
