Straight sets...and Alcaraz was doing trick shots.Mate?
He's playing Carlos Alcaraz
I can't watch her regularly.I think you are misreading Sabalenkas game.
If you watch her regularly you’d realise she often battles through matches in this manner but her overall firepower sees her through. Every match , even against the top players, is on her racquet.
Her record supports that analysis.
They are going to dominate for the foreseeable future. There is no third horse coming up that compares to them at the moment.Seems to me that sinner and Alcaraz are basically next Djokovic and Nadal. Who’s going to be Fed?
i think we can discount any opinions you have about her on the basis of those statementsI can't watch her regularly.
1) Earlier in her career she had major second serve issues. Same as Zverev.
2) Currently, we call her the shrieker. The most unnatural grunt since Azarenka. I'd watch her play a lot more if she rid herself of this.
But I prefer watching most of the other top women other than her for this reason.
Since I play tennis at a decent level, I'd have to respectfully disagreei think we can discount any opinions you have about her on the basis of those statements
what? you are dismissing Sabalenka because you dont like her vocalising?Since I play tennis at a decent level, I'd have to respectfully disagree
Interesting comparison that. They are going to dominate for the foreseeable future. There is no third horse coming up that compares to them at the moment.
While Sinner is kind of a Djokovic type, we've never really seen anything like Alcaraz before. He has attributes of all of the Big 3, a remarkable player.
Alcaraz is artful and not a robot. Plays weird feel shots all the time. @davek calls them trick shots like he's toying with a terrible British opponent, but it's more just this guy is out of this world from a feel perspective - much like Federer was.Interesting comparison that.
Alcaraz, has that indefatigability of Djokovic. (Not seen the bloody mindedness and 'gamesmanship' yet though).
Can see the Nadal influence and clay court upbringing, certain shot selection and execution are incredibly similar.
Reminds me in terms of physique and manoeuvrability of Murray.
It's actually the Federer parallel I struggle most with, perhaps he sticks out a bit more because Djok and Sinner and a few other similar robotic types are about so fervently at the moment and so is the breath of fresh air that can live with and beat them.l
He was levels above Norrie today.
Because she's annoying AFwhat? you are dismissing Sabalenka because you dont like her vocalising?
How am I supposed to take that seriously?
Insightful analysis thereBecause she's annoying AF
Gimme Swiatek all day
Norrie is poor, Raducanu is poor, Kartal is poor
notihng more to be said really

We've never seen anything quite like Alcaraz before - the gracefulness and feel for the game of Fed, coupled with the sheer physicality of Joker and Nadal.
Sinner is really just a younger version of Joker when it comes down to it. Can go into lockdown mode and beat you that way.
