Those same professionals who do this for a living have signed endless amounts of dross year after year. They get it wrong in the same way that we have opinions that might be right or wrong. I take your point and thank you for your patience in having to repeat yourself time and time again and will take your words of wisdom on board.

I wasn't complaining at having to repeat myself, I was self deprecatingly acknowledging that I may be boring some people by making the same point numerous times. More than happy to start being arsey now that you've opened the door for me though.

Obviously the point wasn't that the professionals will always be right, it was just that we actually employ people to make those decisions, and just saying 'how will anyone ever know how good he is if I personally haven't seen him and given my opinion' is a bit of an idiotic way of looking at it.

I don’t think he’s anywhere near that level but he did well whenever he was on the pitch last season, tidy and clever on the ball, has a goal in him. Good footballer.
