Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Because we take a cosmic age to finish up any signing, unlike the other 19 teams in the league.
I refer to the bold in one of your other posts quoted below. This is exactly what’s happened with Barry. Negotiations in June with club and player. He goes on his break. Comes back and signs as soon as he can.
How are you now using this as a stick to beat the club with?

When you take out his holiday it’s been 3 weeks since that Matteo fella broke the story. I’m happy with that considering the negotiations got us a saving of approx. £8m that we can use elsewhere. In your world we should have just lashed the €42m at Villarreal and had him sewn up before he went on holiday. He’d still only be joining the club this week for pre-season anyway. Which would have meant an increased transfer fee and 2-3weeks worth of wages for nothing.

I'd rather we do the negotiations pre-start of "transfer season", just like everyone does, and finish them as soon as we can.

He played the last game 25th of june and it's not like we're talking with him - he's got a highly paid agent to do that for him.

We've signed players in the past during their holidays - it's a signature by a millionaire, not a triathlon they're gonna be doing. Fairly sure we've signed players during their holidays too and they just rock up in jeans, take 10 photos and leave for another week like. If we've not done it, others definitely have.

Disagree. We should have spent the extra 8 million to satisfy someone's made-up deadlines. Especially since Barry missed (checks notes...) nothing.

Any Chelski players we should be in for, they must be looking to shift some after signing another 14 players already this window….

And I don’t mean Broja.
