Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I can live with Longstaff as backup providing we also bring Luiz (or someone of similar ilk) in. Likewise I can live with Harrison as backup providing we bring in a Kubo or Zhegrova. Some of the other names doing the rounds are proper meh though, I'm hoping we have a secret list somewhere.

Not sure we have money for the likes of Kubo - he’ll have champions league suitors.

I assume most of the money will go on a striker (possibly Barry).

Douglas Luiz £21.5mil would surely tempt us into a bid. It would be mad not to.
3 or 4 year contract fees snd signing on takes to about 27m and then he'd bust top earner bracket if he wanted 120k after tax as his figures are circa 160k euro at Juve . Is that roo hot a deal for us, even with the No Europe factor?

He’s never signing for us, he’ll want European football

If it's true that he's after a Premer League return and it's only us, Fulham and United with offers, maybe he'll cut his cloth accordingly?

Moreover, he did leave City to play for Villa under Dean Smith! Villa had no Europe then. I wouldn't rule us out as an option.

Don't forget Brazil aspirations in a World Cup year and our Ancelotti ties.

There's lots going for us.

Only just 27 though, so chance of selling on by 30 to get some money back on the deal.
That wouldn't be the issue, moreover the wages if the goal is to be under the 80% squad wages ratio for UEFA compliance. If they did part of the wages as bonuses in the background maybe that would be a way around it?
