Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The tardy recruitment of the new backroom team explains at least in part the delays in recruiting a new football team. Two out of the four have been here five weeks. The other two are still on gardening leave from their old clubs. We planned to keep some continuity with the guy who decided to follow Thelwell to Rangers. There is a lot of catching up to be done and a lot of reliance on Moyes and his network.

Should have kept Thelwell and Purdy for this summer at the very least.

Rangers have already signed 6 players.

Be nice to get one "exciting" signing - Kubo or Luiz would fit that bill whilst being very good on top.

I see things developing on a more pragmatic basis and there's nothing wrong with that either but there is a great buzz when you get an established player in, that can excite, and someone that isn't on their last legs at the same time.

Ndiaye Barry Kubo would be the best front line we’ve had in a while, probably since Richarlison DCL James under Carlo.

Indeed. This is beginning to show a lack of preparation.

If theres nothing much this or next week then i'll begin to be concerned.
We just come through some pretty horrendous PSR issues. We have overhauled our entire footballing leadership structure in advance of the transfer window amd are now seemingly trying to implement a new transfer model lead by a manager who is notoriously cautious in the transfer market.

It feels fairly expected.

I agree, it must have some effect and is less than optimal. The individuals they wanted could not be released any earlier really.

It does appear that Moyes is the principal figure for this window. Peoples concerns are justified, but nobody knows exactly what's going on and that vacuum breeds anxiety.

Hopefully there will be a start this week and that will get things moving. It's in the execution now - we have to assume the prep work has been done and that the various football and financial implications for every potential transfer have been gamed to death.

We have a lot of work to do so surely for most of the positions required they'll hit the target, or a target. It will not be a perfect window but it needs to be a 7/8 out of 10 window because of what we need.

So 4 specialists to do what Thelwell done on his own. :)
