Wildlife in your Garden

Heard the tawny owl again for the first time in months last night. I’m assuming it’s been away nesting somewhere.

However had a big decline in song birds to the garden over the last few weeks. We had a rat so we upgraded the bird feeder to a fancy pants expensive one that catches the feed. Since then, very few smaller birds visiting.

Hen owls make the twit sound and cock birds make the twoo sound,so if you have a twit-twoo you have them both knocking about.

Fry it up nice on a sandwich :D - if you see a hedge hog - note don't feed them milk - & be careful as they are full of fleas if you have a pet with you ....
Yes, I am a bit of hedgehog fan - they come and go from my garden, just glad to see this one back and in the front garden for a change. My neighbour has 5 hoglets in her garden so this may well be the mother

RABIES !!!

You're not alone. Fortunately, we've been taught here not to mess around with bats. Well, most of us have

Not strictly my garden, but at the bottom of my drive way.
Not sure what type it is but it's brown and if you google Queensland brown snakes the first 8 you get are venomous...and all the pictures look similar.
Anyway, the local Snake Lady happens to live 2 doors down and she popped it in a sack for release in a less populated area...or so the theory goes 🤔
This one is about 30inchs
