Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Never wanted a signing more than Kubo since the days of Moutinho.
Be rude not to dust the cobwebs off the delegation wouldn't it?

It’s a good point. Striker who is great in the air and currently no one from out wide, including full backs, who can deliver crosses
Yeah for me anyway I’d always prefer one inverted and one orthodox at any given time to at least have the option of just delivering crosses- you mix up the threat. On the left we have both options (McNeil / Ndiaye) and would be good to have both options on the right also.

Then we have 30 million tied up that we can’t spend

Remember, buying a player for PSR, the amortization is spread across their contract e.g £20mil on a 4 year deal is £5mil a year.

If Roma paid us £5mil then that £5mil hits our books instantly as a 'loan/sale' + his wages are added on to the fee, so we'd be even.

If there was an obligation in the deal at the end of the season for a profit, e.g £20mil then we would have:

Wesley book value at £15mil. Therefore we'd make £5mil profit.

That £5mil profit can be used to sign another £20mil player on a 4 year deal.

I think its far fetched and would much rather we just signed him. But there may be a benefit here. Who knows.

I think the additional one would have to be a loan. Can’t see us spending decent money on Barry, Kubo, a central midfielder and another.

I think the 2 'key' signings are in the full back positions. If were able to sign Tagliafico at LB on a free then clearly we save a fee for another position.

The Keane extension and reading that we had a new CB deal ready to go suggests that we want to use the CB money on another position.

Perhaps after the Tete deal fell through, were prioritising a RB for a fee. Impossible to know.

Once LB & RB are sorted then we should see where we are with the remaining positions...of course we have no idea on the order or possible signings.

How badly do you want him ?
Oh like the days of circling toys for your Chrimbo List . This is gonna give me flashbacks to not getting a speak and spell all those years ago, even though I mixed it up and circled in red green blue and black in successive years. That's an Everton Transfer Window right there.'We tried'

A speed merchant would be ideal for the last 20 minutes or so and would give the squad another dimension.

Sorry if he has a heart problem that stops him playing in Italy why would we take a risk on him ???
Because he's a really good player who I think we could get cheap due to circumstances.

In the same boat as Eriksson who's continued playing without issue.

I take your point though, not sure if I'd keep playing football if I had a dicky ticker.

Of the names mentioned, the epitome of a player who can be "High press, high energy" is Kubo on the RW.

On paper the front 4 from Beto, Barry, McNeil, Kubo, Alcaraz and Ndiaye all fit this metric.

We would still need one more player, perhaps McAtee who could play at least RW & ACM.
And that would be exciting - the problem is so far we’ve signed Keane, Colman and are strongly rumoured to go with Harrison
