Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Douglas Luiz as with Gallagher no brainer of a signing elevates this team, it can't be debated.

Can we afford him? In theory of course!

Will we buy him? no

a) He'll want CL
b) we need a lot of players in this window and any purchases at the older age are likely to be low fees or loans.

He's the kind of player we may attract and have the capacity to go after in the next couple of seasons if we start threatening the upper echelons of the league and have a more settled team which only needs tweaking.

TFG has no history of buying a business then flipping it for a quick profit. They buy, invest and stick around. Now maybe we will be the exception to prove that rule but it just isn’t their modus operandi. They aren’t a PE/VC type business they are an old fashioned multi industry conglomerate with a clear focus on entertainment, leisure and sport in their expansion outwards from the core Toyota dealerships that created the financial platform for growth.

If they wanted to flip us quick they wouldn't looking into the purchase of Nelson dock.

Mihailo Ivanovic got a mention online, Millwall Striker ???
Watched him a few times.
Would definitely be in for him, young, skillful has a bit of everything you want out a young forward.
Saying that when I watched him later in the season he seemed to be not at the same level, suppose you expect that with young players.
But if the fee isn't to high well worth a gamble.

Moyes average age in buying players for everton is around 23 years old.

At West ham he average around 27 years old. Moyes shifted towards more seasoned players at West Ham.

At Everton was more based on long term planning where West ham was more now. I assume moyrs will go the West route this time as he getting older.

Hmm, I think it will be good mix, but Barry and Alcaraz show that there is also the intent to get young players into the squad. And I guess that's not the end of it. Moyes also stressed multiple times that it's important to bring the average age down.

Douglas Luiz would be a great addition too when the asking price is really under 25m. And 27 is not very old tho. Might even get a little more attention through his gf.

They’ve split up - cancel the transfer
