Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Evening all, good news about Chris’ endoscopy- I hope the good news keeps coming for you @anjelikaferrett . Glad to hear your computer has finally arrived @Terrarian . Sounds like a great holiday planned @Armaghtoffee, have you been before to that area?
Just watched a film - not a new one - about a battalion of black American women in WW2 who received terrible racial discrimination but who sorted out a big problem with the post called the Six Triple Eight which was really good.
Early night for me - in a moment of grandmotherly generosity I agreed to look after the baby in the morning while Josh and Beth get ready and pack the car up to go on holiday to Carbis Bay for a week. Then they told me they wanted to be leaving by 8 …
The rest of my Saturday will be spent helping out at a festival in Preston which is raising money for the dog rescue I am involved with so I’m hoping the weather bucks up as it’s currently hammering down here. I think I’m on the Tombola or the doggy lucky dip.
Have a great weekend everyone 💙
Have you watched " Hidden figures " it is another where woman are discriminated against .

I managed a pre dinner G&T tonight. Edinburgh gin. What else?😀. And very nice it was too but sadly without my preferred Fevertree tonic.

Cheers everyone. Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend. Back in my hotel room now as I have an early flight back home tomorrow.
Safe trip home ,if you remember where it is ! You had a good break from Kernow .

Good morning all on this lovely morning here . I contacted @Pilks on FB yesterday to try help solve a problem and got the timing wrong and woke him up just after he had dropped off ! Best of all the problem --yes you have guessed was not there anymore .
I hope all are well after a good night ,I must say @peteblue seems to be getting a better night's sleep lately and have a fantastic day .COYB .
I'm off to wake some poor soul !!!

Just in the queue for boarding now Blue. Possibly the most efficient security I've ever been through at an airport. Treated myself to a bottle of Edinburgh gin too. It would be rude not to really. Going to a BBQ on the way home too. Weather must be better in Cornwall than it is up here.

Hi everybody. It's been a bit of a stressful day today. Chris was admitted to hospital last night with severe stomach pains. He had a scan, so obviously you can't help but think all sorts of bad things. Anyway to make a long story short, the scan showed bowel inflammation but nothing else. He's having an endoscopy tomorrow - the doctors think it is colitis which is a known side effect of immunotherapy. He's currently on IV steroids- which will probably delay his next round of treatment but everything seems to be manageable. The pain in his stomach has eased today so that's good too. So I feel much calmer than I did last night.
Pleased your new PC is finally on its way @Terrarian . I hope the tree work is completed @jazzy and peace is restored. Sorry about the races @Barnfred 55 I'm sure you still had fun.
Have a nice night folks x
Late to the party on this one Anj.

So sorry to hear about Chris' latest health scare and fingers crossed for a happy outcome

If you ever have any spare time Val , Mrs Js rescue would love you to come and help at their fundraising days?

Happy weekend everyone.

Well after 2 days labouring for the tree surgeon and carrying the estimated 4 tonnes of logs produced by cutting down the huge sycamore tree I can officially announce that I am.... knackered.

As a reward for my efforts Mrs J took me down the pub for fish and chips and a pint of Guinness , and very nice it was .

Housework, a little bit of residual garden tidying to do and , fingers crossed for the weather, it's down to the cricket today for a big derby match. Should be fun but glad I no longer play with fast bowling getting the ball up around your ears.

Well whatever you've got planned have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning all. Chris should be out of hospital today - he is being switched to oral steroids instead of IV so that's good too. What does concern me though( and maybe this is overprotective Mum manifesting) is that he had a dodgy looking mole removed a couple of weeks ago and had biopsies yesterday. The results will not be available for up to 8 weeks for the mole and two weeks for the biopsies. Surely, and this would apply to anyone, given that he already has a Stage 3 melanoma cancer diagnosis, those procedures could be fast tracked. To me, time is of the essence in these situations. A positive result after 8 weeks means that 8 weeks of treatment options have gone by and things could spread in that time. Hopefully we won't come to that.
I'm going to aqua aerobics in a few minutes.I hope this pic makes you laugh as much as I did. Charlotte took Frankie to a parent/baby session at the village hall yesterday. It was all about giving the babies sensory experiences. In the 'introduce yourself to the person next to' part, he was sick on his neighbour. Charlotte sent me this. He was less than impressed with his hat!1000008386.webp

Well that is a sensory experience I can vouch for that ! In my experience they need time to process the samples to see what happens ,which is hopefully what we all hope for .It happens with me since my diagnosis and I feel the same ,the wait is almost as bad .Trust in who you do and have patience .

I’d pull that face if I had to wear a hat like that.😂
Natural to worry, it’s not being over protective and when you’re worried the waiting seems endless.
