2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

You’ve not read anything I’ve just said.

We can’t fix it all in one window.
We currently have no right back.
One senior striker
No right winger
One left back
2 centre midfielders

But sure. Let’s go and blow money on a fourth choice centre back, big brain.

I never said it could be fixed in one window, that would be ludicrous , keeping him on doesn’t help us at all im my opinion . A shame there is no decent versatile players on a free.

No need for that attitude soft arse , I was only giving you my opinion.

And zero pressure. He’s got a history of turning up when he wants a new deal with some half decent performances at the back end of a season.

He’s turned in stinkers under Koeman Silva Ancelotti Benitez Lampard Dyche. The manager isn’t the issue.
So he picks himself in the starting line up?

Yeah sorry mate, my comment was a bit out of hand, apologies x

Can suffer a 1 year extension. Just. He's like sitting in the dentists waiting room. You know pain is coming your way.
Fingers crossed he'll be sitting on the bench most of it. Seems a nice lad. But thats also part of the problem. I want centre halves to be aggressive and offended if teams score against you. He looks like he's just going through the motions.

This one I'm fine with.

I don't expect him to play more than he did last year. Hopefully less if we get an actual right back so O'Brien can play more in the middle.

Signing Harrison for any amount of actual money would be criminal for me though.

How can renewing a player who has demonstrably and undeniably shown himself to be awful be in anyway a positive thing?

It's nothing other than pathetic. And if Dyche were still manager and done this they'd be absolute uproar.

We’ll see. We had a decent season for that group of player in 23/24 because Keane was finally sidelined and kept out the team. There’s a correlation between how little we see of him and how good our form is. His performances in the 4 games to start last season were some of the worst I’ve ever seen.

And in fairness mate, had Dyche picked OBrien which we will now, we wouldn't have seen Keane.

This decision could bite us in the behind really badly if worst case scenario and we lose one of the first/second/third choice early doors.

What do you think Branthwaite will do if we are fighting relegation again next season.

We could lose him because all of you happy clappers are "fine" to keep this joke of a player as 4th choice.

Let's go through each part. If we lose 1 the other two will play.

We finished closer to the top 4 than relegation, and haven't been in a relegation scrap for two years.

We showed top 8 form under Moyes, and that was with Keane playing. So I'm optimistic we can be in Europe, which will help us, or we sell him for mega money.

I doubt we lose him, if we do, based on who our 4th choice CB is mate.

Unless you're saying he goes around deliberately hobbling the other players I really don't know what point you're trying to make. Yes, people get injured and your back ups have to play, we know that. If we don't bring in or right back or we do and they get injured and Coleman or Patterson has to play at right back it will be an issue, if Pickford gets injured and Tyrer or someone like Angus Gunn has to play it will be an issue, if Mykolenko gets injured and we have to play err... nobody at left back it will be an issue. Keane is no more of an issue than any of those things, it's not ideal by any means but it doesn't deserve the mass cryarsing it's getting from some.

My thinking is along these lines really.

1) They won't be paying him a lot, and there's no fee. It will be hard to find someone so cheap.

2) Our resources should be spent on first team players.

3) Our season will be dictated by how good our first team players perform.
