Forum rules have gone to pot.dear me..walks off into the distance tutting whilst also dreaming of those epic Harrison scurries forward as he then gets dispossessed.I don’t have a partner mate. What a low blow.
I'd agree with that but it might also be that we haven't got the levels of cash available to replace those players but could afford some decent additions and only offer one year contracts on greatly reduced wages to some of the existing squad to avoid diluting the quality of those brought in, and look at replacing those on one year contracts next summer. My response may well be one for the awful takes thread but I hope the contract offers reflect the fact we were/are looking to add a few quality players for decent fees in key areas and trying to hold on to others as squad fillers.
To be fair Matty Harrison is absolutely cack but he is a Moyes type of player, hard working and defensively he can put a shift in.
We should sign Matty Harrison and loan him to RomaTo be fair Matty Harrison is absolutely cack but he is a Moyes type of player, hard working and defensively he can put a shift in.
I think this is an issue with Moyes though. He is a good coach and a good manager, but he has a conservative streak running through him a mile wide. He has always had players in the team who got in the side more for their attitude, than their ability - Hibbert and Neville were two examples.Players are either good enough or they’re not, it shouldn’t be ‘well they can stay if they’re only on x amount per week’. I’m glad some of these players turned down contract offers for wage reasons but I’d rather Everton just hadn’t offered them in the first place. It worries me that at any wage the club wanted to keep all these players.
I sure hope that's not an awful take.My response may well be one for the awful takes thread but I hope the contract offers reflect the fact we were/are looking to add a few quality players for decent fees in key areas and trying to hold on to others as squad fillers.
I`m not sure Everton have the PSR scope to sign £30m players to loan out...Imagine the Roma ultras when we sign Wesley and then keep him.
We have if the rumours are true and we have sold GP and the womens team to ourselves.I`m not sure Everton have the PSR scope to sign £30m players to loan out...

It's one of the things that will have prevented him getting a decent crack at a big club. Top managers would not play players who are completely bereft of ability on attitude alone. I know you can swing it back round and point out the level of club we are and have been for some time, so invariably won't have the most talented players. But you don’t break that cycle by continuing to employ terrible footballers, particularly when we have an unprecedented chance for a reset.
And we all know Moyes will play these lads a lot. Look at how often he selected Doucoure at the end of the season when, one winning goal (but not performance) aside, he absolutely stunk the gaff out. And Moyes offered him a new deal. Had we have kept him, he would have been playing most weeks, we know that.
Moyes is a good manager, but sometimes he does need saving from himself a little. I just hope this transfer committee is strong enough to minimise the chance of that.

You say it like there is some sort of a difference.i don’t agree mate he’s a dyche player
not a moyes
Difference is that Hibbert and Neville were actually miles better than what we have now. Neville gets in the team in either full back position or in midfield. Hibbert walks in at right back and I’d rather see him at CB than Michael Keane.
I don’t mind a utility player that can actually do a job. We’re actively keeping players who we know aren’t good enough to do any job now.
If we have a few injuries or suspensions next season and the start of the team sheet reads Coleman and Keane then it’s open season for whoever is playing down the opposition left flank.
Imagine the Roma ultras when we sign Wesley and then keep him.
