2024/25 Michael Vincent Keane

The fact he’s happy to stay and be 4th choice centre back says a lot about Michael Keane I’d say.

I really hope it’s with a significant wage reduction, but I very much doubt it.

After some deliberation, I'm at peace with him extending. Moreover, IF we sign a decent RB, I wouldn't expect him to get much game time at all with Branthwaite, Tarkowski and JOB all ahead at CB. It's not often both Branthwaite and Tarkowski will be injured.

Ffs. Is there no getting rid of this charlatan. That’s strike one against the new football structure for me. That contract better be absolute chicken feed wages.
Haha…. Had he gone we’d have had to fork out on another cb, we’ve enough to go and find already, no??

It’s a safe bet, yes he’s an accident waiting to happen, but isn’t first choice anymore. He can do a job when required, has proved that enough already. He has a happy knack of scoring crucial goals too!!

Whether your OK or unhappy about him signing an extension, at least we have clarity & can move on to more pressing matters. 4th choice centre back was never a big one but it did have a say in our transfer budget. Now get Gana done & we know exactly where we stand.

At some point he’ll become first choice due to an injury or suspension, and when it’s a derby game or a cup game, and you see JB or Tarkwoski holding their thigh the match before or getting a red card you’ll have wished that we’d just gone out and bought someone else.

He’s a walking disaster.

I like Keane, he's had some absolutely awful games and felt like he was trying to relegate us on his own at one point a few years ago, but he looked much more comfortable under Moyes so he's fine for a fourth choice centre back and we need to save our funds for other priority positions.

I don’t agree, he’ll be ok under moyes. Under the last manager, he was utter bobbins. As a 4th choice, or deputy he will be ok. I do acknowledge that he has the odd brain fart… he isn’t someone we will rely on unless something terrible happens.
