Also the heat. I had to let air out of the MIL's tyres the other day as they were well over recommended due to them being done to near max when it was a whole lot cooler.
Long run, high speed (60+), and high temps aren't a good mix at all.
Speculation I know, and the main point is that two fine young men have died leaving loved ones who must be distraught.

Added to your thoughts, the possibility of debris on the road causing a catastrophic blowout has been in my mind since hearing the awful news.

Maserati tyres should surely be resistant to blow outs through the tyre itself failing in heat. They are built for hot climates.

Regularly traffic reports and electric signs will warn of debris particularly on motorways and urge drivers to exercise caution.

The Concorde disaster was caused by metal dropped on the runway by another plane, which caused a blowout that punctured fuel tanks, and the catastrophic explosion.

My prayers are with those left behind.

190 miles into a trip from Porto to Santander according to The Telegraph. Could it be a possibility that a car like a Lamborghini can't handled such distances at speed and therefore the tyre has exploded? RIP.
A possibility, but in reality there are so many factors which we don't have the answers for, so it's nigh on impossible for us to tell without the evidence.

It could be over inflation of the tyre, under inflation (in fact, one of the biggest causes of blow outs!), excess heat due to sustained periods at speed...

... excess wear or a defect. Debris? It could be a combination of more than one factor. I'm more concerned why the car has gone up in flames.

Just driven past the pit...

Small amount of fans milling about paying their respects, even a few wolves tops which I thought was a nice gesture....

I did see one thing though which struck me as a bit self serving...a dad taking a pic of (his?) Two young lads in rs tops holding up scarfs in front of a homemade tribute banner....

I appreciate the gesture of paying your respects, I just dont like it when people make it about themselves

He was advised (by LFC?) to travel by road and ferry to get back to Liverpool due to the nature of his injury rather than private jet.

Tragic but frankly innocent lives are lost via vehicular accidents every hour around the globe and considering the dire humanitarian crisis & ongoing genocide, the imbalance on empathy for human suffering and loss is incomprehensible
See, the thing is, in this city we look after our own, and a near as can be, he was one of our own, regardless of the colour of his shirt.
They are our brothers, sisters, mums, dads, kids, wives, husbands.
They are us.
We are them.

You?
Youre a vile, self centred little turd who had to make it about you.

Koff ye bellend

By doctors wasn't it? I wouldn't be putting this on them, although they could i suppose have given him extra time off?

Local clubs were crap so he created a story to justify why he follows a global mega club instead....classless tart

Jota underwent minor surgery at some point before his June 2025 wedding, and was advised by doctors not to fly. Having travelled from Liverpool to Porto for his wedding by ferry to Santander in northern Spain and then driving south, he was set to return to Liverpool training by taking the reverse journey in July; his brother André, aged 25, was driving him to the port

Ive only ever had 1 tyre blow out on me. Over 25 years ago. VW Golf. Im glad it was a front wheel drive.
Quarter of a million pound sports car. Auto transmission. Rear wheel drive. Once that rear end goes they needed all the luck in the world.
Terrible tragedy.

I had one because I hit a stone

It's horrible. Let's wait to find out what happened. Jose Reyes and Paul Walker crashed their cars at unbelievable speeds so it may help awareness on driving safely.
