Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Are we really though in the eyes of the Freidkins? They travel to Roma quite often yet they haven’t been arsed to turn up once at our gaff since they bought us.
I think dan has been to 2 European finals rumour is they may sell Roma in the next few years. This is not about who’s the biggest club,
But the premier league is the biggest in tbe world and that’s a fact

I actually like the multi club model. In a world where Chelsea stock pile players and the league try to shaft us over PSR we have to find an edge. This is it.

Sure there will be a moment when we appear to benefit more than Roma. But in this instance it looks like they get the more promising player.

But look, the Turkish RB is decent and a different option to O-Brien, and miles better than Patterson and Coleman.
I'm just surprised that Roma haven't helped more to bolster our threadbare squad with a few low cost loans, but then maybe it's early days.

Honestly, I don't see the problem as long as we get Wesley once he's more of the refined article. As far as I'm aware, Wesley has never played a game of football on European soil - how would that translate if he came to us and was expected to be our 1st choice RB straight away?

Sending him to the club where Cafu made his name, under a coach like Gasperini, makes sense to me. Of course, all of this relies on whether or not we get him someday.

So, how will people feel about the start of the window if within a day or two we A. Resign Gana, B. Extend Branthwaite, C. Purchase a striker(Barry)? Will that buy the club a few days without excessive complaining or no?
Seeing how long you are here I’m surprised you even asked that question
Still a lot of bedsheets to be wetted this window

Gonna skip all the pros and alleged cons of this Wesley deal, is the source even credible?

I mean it's hardly James Richardson on a piazza reading the corriello Della sport is it? 😂

Personally next deal I wanna see done after Barry is Mcatee or A.N. other (be honest I know very little about Doak) exciting right winger, like to get them nicely bedded in on that USA tour.

Yes, I think it’s early days in terms of the window, if we get further into the window and we still have gaps in the squad, perhaps we will get some Roma loans. But their squad doesn’t seem to be huge either.

The Ceilk transfer seems like a good option for us, we get a player who is in his prime, we were linked with him before he went to Roma as well, about 5 years ago

Don't have any issues in principle of collaborating with Roma on deals, it's one of the things you'd expect from a multi-club situation.

I think what we'd all probably raise eyebrows about, however, would be the fact that we are being told we have limited PSR scope to spend this summer, so us buying a player for £30m and then loaning him out immediately wouldn't appear to be a great move on our part. Plus this is a player we've been tracking ourselves for months and plays in a position we desperately need to strengthen.

If we bought him, then loaned him to Roma and they then gave us Celik - it doesn't feel like we are coming out of that deal particularly well on the face of things.

Well if he turns into a similar standard to Cafu then you’d imagine we’d be due an enormous fee when Madrid or Barca come calling, so that’s a potential positive too if it were to happen.

Once Barry comes on hopefully not long until we see a RB, another option for right sided attacker and a CM.

Think it’s looking clear that Moyes will play a central striker of Barry or Beto with 3 supporting him.

I’d expect early season to see us starting something like this, unless Tarks not ready then Jake in the middle with Branners and a new RB brought in.

…………………Barry / Beto……………..
NDiaye…………Alcaraz…………..New
…………….Gana…….Garner/New
Myko……….Branners….Tarks……OBrien.

McNeill and Armstrong adding a bit of strength in depth for those 3 attacking positions.
