Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If that’s the case why don’t Roma just buy him as opposed to paying a loan fee, it would be 4 mill a year anyway in amortisation, every year. Therefore they won’t be paying an equivalent loan fee to a year ammortisation.

Everton making a profit on him next year from Roma just means TFG loose money. If the cost to them now is 20mill and the cost next year is 22mill - why would they charge themselves 2 million - they wouldn’t and won’t.
I think the crux of how this would work and how it benefits both teams is by having Zeki Çelik come the other way. He's in the last year of his contract, and Everton have a small squad. Çelik is a consolation for Kenny Tete, who I wasn't thrilled about anyway, and it would clear him from Roma's roster to make room for Wesley. The Friedkins kill two birds with one stone without Everton taking a PSR hit, if the deals are structured correctly.

The player would belong to Everton. Roma would have him on loan. What is happening here? He goes to Italy for a season or two and comes to us a much better player. I don’t understand the problem for a second.
Im not sure I like it but.....If we loan him to Roma for one year, and Celik comes here on the last year of his contract, then it allows us to bring him back in year two with no extra money committed to the position.

Again, I dont think I like it, but the timeline would work.

It’s absolutely wild how some baseless rumor can make adults lose their minds

Tuesday: sign branthwaite to 5 year deal
Wednesday: (some no name online rumor) friedkins are using us as mules. I knew they were no good

It must be exhausting being that erratic

Also turning it into a negative instantly.

If we buy said player with installments and have Roma pay a loan fee greater than the installments that will be a positive on our PSR.

If we got Wesley and loaned him to Roma then Celik came the other way for a year then there is massive disparity in quality between the two players.

If we owned the player then we have the risk of him getting injured at Roma as well. Lots of short term negatives.

However, if this was a 1 year deal only, with Wesley joining us in 12months then it would be excellent business.

Not just to be a contrarion but we do have Patterson and Dixon who have both played in the PL. One is a full Scottish International and the other is very pacy. Seems like they have vanished from the collective mindset.

Mate they can’t complain about

- Stadium over running
- no Branding on stadium
- Brainthwaite leaving

So this is new for them till the next f’cking thing

T'will have been a good week all in all: Branthwaite with his new conny, the Evertonisation of the stadium underway, a glossy new six foot six son of a gun striker brought in.

Would love to top it off with Gueye signing up for an extra year or two. Couldn't really get much better than that early doors in July.

Lots of work to do, but that would be an excellent starting point.
