Depends what comes the other way. There's no way we'd do that... right?
What on earth do we stand to gain from that?

This would have been so far off the radar regarding anyone guessing this as a strategy, or indeed the players involved, that it could be a goer and actually work not only in theory. This is totally leftfield, as much as it would seem implausible to happen before we get our priority paid for attacking positions filled. Either we are the Friedkins afterthought or there's more £££s sloshing around than suggested?
This bloke is as reliable as they come. So Gasperini wants Wesley as a priority, but financially Roma can’t do the deal reading between the lines. So they use us to buy him and take the hit on our accounts, to then let Roma get the player? They wouldn’t dare surely? They’d be run out of town sharpish!
I know I don't go with that theory myself either. They have stabilised Roma but the real ££s despite PSR restrictions are still in the Prem.Being their “afterthought” makes zero sense for me. The rewards for making us successful absolutely dwarf those available in Italy.
Also, if they just wanted to use us to fund Roma, Branthwaite wouldn’t ha ve just signed a new contract, he’d be being shipped out

Yeah I think if there’s anything at all with it it could revolve around the TFG group “gifting” us the money for the women’s team. The pure profit from that could cover what we want to do and the amortisation on a deal like this to help out the group. They’d effectively be using group money to sell Everton’s women’s club and Goodison to themselves? Argument could be made that they’d look to use that to benefit both clubs? Not that we’d like it.
Would be our asset I suppose

And if we buy him, loan him to Roma for a year to get experience then bring him over to be our starting RB?If moyes and anyone at the clubs lets this happen is a disgrace, dont mind deals between the clubs loaning players/buying from eachother. But pathetic to be buying a player just to play for the other team. Trying not to get angry as hope it is bs, but we ahould not be accepting this as fans
But look at our right back options - we don't need a Brazilian international RB to developAnd if we buy him, loan him to Roma for a year to get experience then bring him over to be our starting RB?
We’ve been looking around the free market to plug a hole at right back because the money we do have, needs to be spent on forwards. Fair enough. If we then spent 30m on a right back to give the new Roma manager what he’s requested because they can’t do the deal themselves, then that is a huge red flag and to be quite honest, unfathomable.I’d deduct 10 points from us myself if we spent £30 million on a player we hand over to Roma.
And another
