Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

There would have to be something of equal value in return like a loan for Soule or someone like that. If there’s nothing in it for us like you say our people won’t be having it.
Yeah only thing that would make sense for us is Celik for pennies and Soule on loan

Would Wesley automatically get a work permit for us, or could this also be a way of getting him a work permit?

This bloke is as reliable as they come. So Gasperini wants Wesley as a priority, but financially Roma can’t do the deal reading between the lines. So they use us to buy him and take the hit on our accounts, to then let Roma get the player? They wouldn’t dare surely? They’d be run out of town sharpish!

You’re not so much reading between the lines there as you are writing them yourself

Hear me out here, but I could actually get behind Wesley being mentored by Gasperini for a year. Especially if we're sent Celik on the cheap. Celik has more European experience and I think he'd be a "safer" fit than Wesley for us currently.

Pelters?
This would have been so far off the radar regarding anyone guessing this as a strategy, or indeed the players involved, that it could be a goer and actually work not only in theory. This is totally leftfield, as much as it would seem implausible to happen before we get our priority paid for attacking positions filled. Either we are the Friedkins afterthought or there's more £££s sloshing around than suggested?

Really?

“Roma are working to sign the Brazilian full-back: the deal could also involve Everton.

Roma are moving to provide Gasperini with reinforcements ahead of the new season.

One of the names that the Giallorosso club is focusing on is Wesley, a Flamengo right-back born in 2003, who the former Atalanta coach already wanted in Bergamo. Roma have made the first contacts in the last few hours.

The latest news is that the operation that would take the Brazilian to Rome could involve a third club. In fact, they are working in synergy with Everton.

The English club, which has the same owners as Roma, would buy the player and then loan him to the Giallorossi, thus facilitating the negotiation, since the Brazilian club is asking for 30 million euros.”

I mean if we get a top quality, long term right back out of it that’s fine. I imagine our women’s team will be sold in the near future which should give us plenty more to spend this summer and help facilitate a move like this.
