New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Looking at the pictures, whilst the hospitality spaces look amazing. It still makes me laugh how the fisher price 2013 badge still resurfaces now and again like it has on the Queens Head pub picture.

I think moaning will get worse when season starts, my main worry is that there simply isn't the same atmosphere as you had at GP. Numerous opposition players, managers and fans have talked about how intimidating GP could be. At GP you could have season defining moment such as Phil Nevilles challenge on Ronaldo, where atmosphere went from dead to defeaning and we got an equaliser. Even in Upper Gwladys and Bullens Road, you would get everyone singing when we needed it. I don't want us to become a soulless tourist dome. But until season starts I'll reserve my judgement.

Up to the fans to bring the atmosphere with us. If we want to play in a league with the big boys, we need to be ambitious, and that means a world class stadium with top facilities. Parochial and nostalgic thinking will get us nowhere.

Not many tourists will be jetting in to see the Everton of the last 35 years, mate. That was one reason Goodison had "atmosphere" - neutrals had zero incentive to buy our tickets.

Of course, the whole Goodison atmosphere talk is wildly overblown. While it stirred under the lights for big derbies and relegation deciders, it was very often an absolute library (replete with toxic librarians).

Up to us to make it so then.

Last season was it 4 home wins out of 19, one of the worst if not the worst return of all time, so a fat lot of good the Goodison atmosphere did us in terms of getting 3 points.

I hope there's stacks of tourists, tourists means we are doing well, hell maybe even winning things.

I agree atmosphere wasn't great for most games at GP, but when we needed it fans raised roof.

Not based on any computerised acoustic modelling or anything, but I’ve a feeling the sound/volume in particular will be “good” when heard from the stands themselves, leading to some meh reactions, but will be brutal and excellent when heard from the pitch when all sides of the ground are at it, given the verticality of the stands.

Will be interesting to hear player reactions after the first matches.
