Confirmed Signing Thierno Barry

watching the youtube's seems like he is more Beto than dCL which I think is a positive as the way the rest of the team creates attacks depends on the playing style of the striker. The contrasting styles between Beto and DCL left us caught between 2 stools too often. beto was only successful when he had a run in the side without DCL on the bench. Just my tuppence worth.
If we play him through the middle between Beto and DCL he'd still be between two stools.

We’d have missed out on £20m of additional profit?

Regardless, I certainly hope he’s worth the £34m or whatever we’re paying for him, as there’s seems to be a fair few people think we’re doing well paying that amount for a 22 year old unproven in the league.

But you wouldn't get £80 mill for him - playing anywhere else but the PL mate - which is why he's £27 mill to get out of Spain.

That's the game really, you are buying years of service and hope his registration increases in value.

Rom is a great example, we bought his for around the £27 mill fee, looks cheap now.

Its a lot of money for us, in my opinion and i think Everton have a lot of trust to build in the fan base in selecting players, we've had largely nothing but bad deals and having to manage the resulting financial difficulty for close to a decade now.

We do at some point need to back our judgement again and take these risks in investing if we believe in a player.

Our squad is one of the lowest invested in, in the entire league for seasons now - it badly needs investment.

The admittedly minimal clips I’ve seen left me thinking the same re him being like Beto, whom I’m already not convinced Moyes fancies to lead the line with they type of football I suspect he wants to play.
If we look to carry on playing quick counter attacking football, I’d say they’re pretty much the perfect type of strikers for a club of our standing.

In my head i'm framing him as French DCL but with a better ceiling just to manage expectations for now.

I think he's probably quicker across the grass, but not as good holding the ball up (yet). Seems to have a similar good aerial ability.

I think if he reaches double figure across the season (all competitions) it'll be a success. I expect he'll blow hot and cold where Beto will take the load (I expect him to also reach double figures).

The key this summer is supplementing N'Diaye with a few more wingers that can push double figures in goals.

We need to take the load of this lad and just let him develop.

There is the outside chance though he could just hit the ground running and fly, think that would be an unreasonable expectation though.
He needs to hit the ground running from the off! Too costly otherwise, and it usually works well for other teams.

Like to see us play with Beto and Barry upfront next season. In a 442. Be good to see us attack and take it to teams especially at home.
