Evening everyone, a few degrees cooler today, still hot but not as brutal as yesterday. Daughter rang to say that there had been a devastating house fire near her. The house is just a shell, the occupants have lost everything. It was started by a solar light. I knew about electric bike/scooter batteries but I had no idea that solar lights could be dangerous.
Hope the babysitting is going well and you are having lots of cuddles @anjelikaferrett .
@Val P The charity farm sounds like a great day out, grandchildren are great excuse to do things and go places that you like.

I have only ever seen one house fire and it was very distressing. Sounds silly but the heat of it really shocked me.

When you say solar light, are we talking something outside the house like a garden light?

Hi folks I hope you are all OK. Babysitting went spectacularly well, he was so good. We all went to bed at 8.30pm after his last bottle. He didn't wake up until 3.45, had another bottle and stayed awake for an hour - not crying but he seemed to have a lot to tell me about! He then slept until 7.30am. Pretty good I reckon. The cat was more trouble - demanding to go out at 3 am, then changing her mind and wanting food instead.
I'm so happy you had a good time at the garden party @blueloon . A lovely experience for you. Hope the races went well @Barnfred 55 and welcome back @coollino .

It’s worth keeping on top of them with another polite message of “ That’s great news can you email me when it’s shipped and tracking details please “ . They do seem like they need a nudge.

As @blueloon suggested above, pinning them down for a tracking number is great advice. Nothing as frustrating as waiting on something you paid for and were promised by a certain date.

There's an app called shop and it's got tracking, problem being it's simply been on "preparing shipment" for two weeks. So I should see a change tomorrow I guess.

Yes the light was in the back garden and must have been quite close to the conservatory. I think the fact that it hadn’t rained for weeks and everything was as dry as dust didn’t help,
