Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeah it was always going to be a free transfer. I thought we'd have managed to get somebody a bit better than Gunn to be honest, just a case of hoping Pickford keeps up his good appearance record because you definitely do not want him to be starting too many games.
Yeah i believe you did see played abit last season so thought he might of been better. But yeah is what is it with a backup gk for us hard to really get quality

Got a cheek calling anyone a clown when you’ve just suggested spending the entirety of the transfer budget on a CB to sit on the bench, while we have no right winger, no fit right back and a desperately thin midfield.

We all know Keane is crap, we can’t fix everything in one window ffs.

Where did I say we should spend the whole budget on him?

Someone asked me who would I buy instead of Michael Keane. I named a player I think would be a good long term signing for Everton. I didn’t say let’s spend 50 mill on him, or that he would be 4th choice.

Stop scrambling around getting triggered because someone disagreed with your internet friend or trying to bring former managers into the discussion on a transfer thread and actually read what is written.

I’m not saying Barry is the answer. I have never seen him play. I am saying that I do not believe Beto is quality PL striker. He is an awkward galoot who gets some goals. Not the striker that a club with European aspirations should have as their no one striker

I get what you’re saying and his touch isn’t good etc but if he can keep up close to a 1 in 2 ratio that’s more than good enough for Europe.

Lukaku often let balls bounce off his shins but what he was good at he was an exceptional at.

We should aspire for a better striker long term, yes, but many people talk like Beto isn’t good enough for us to make Europe.

If he carries on scoring like he has Beto won’t be the reason we won’t make Europe. It will be no quality right winger, goals\creativity from midfield that will hold us back.

He’s not pretty but he’s effective and hopefully Beto takes some of the pressure off Barry so he can adapt quickly.

A Villarreal fan said that Barry has also been used in a 10 before so it’s not impossible to play both him and Beto at times.

Lindelof and Zouma were free agents this summer, both aren’t very good but are still a lot better than Keane.
Disagree here. Zouma in his prime, yes. But not now.

Also, apart from being awful Lindelof wouldn’t be coming here to be 4th choice.

Keane is absolutely fine as 4th choice CB and no doubt will also be taking a bit of wage cut too.

I still hope the club would be looking at walker petters i kno has said wants be in london. But most of them already have starting rb, while here might have obrien but would be a good chance he would be the starting rb. Plus not trying to be big headed over everton but a club the size of us would like think it would be an easy sell to him

We have money this summer to spend. It’s simply no excuse to keep Keane.

There’s no excuse for keeping Keane. None.
Feels all a bit Football Manager mode thinking to me. We already have a bare thin squad as it is and are going to spend most of the summer to reshape it. It's just not necessary to reshape it further in some areas for marginal gains or for huge fees.

It feels like you think we have far more money than we actually do to spend.

Im extremely happy with the posters I have on ignore going by the last few hours anyway. Morons every where

You seem very angst-ridden nowadays.

Before posting, think whether it's on topic, and constructive to the forum - or whether you're being antagonistic/snide.

If your view of members on this forum you've been on since 2008 is so low, find another?

Wow, this is mad. I mean, it always gets mad in here but it is THE SECOND OF JULY fellas.

We've tied JB down, Gueye is sorted by the sounds and whether you like it or not Keane is staying as well. We've cut a few adrift, been gazumped for K-Tet and are closing in on signing Gareth Barry's lad.

We're active enough on the matters that are public. Even Old Everton pulled a surprise or two out of the hat so don't rule that out under our new overlords either.

I imagine our starting 11 in the first few games at least will be virtually the starting 11 from last season, albeit with a new RW. (Maybe a new RB depending on if Tarks is fit or not). But even then, we could see our front four being Beto, Ndiaye, Charly and McNeil.

Pretty much every player signed will need time to settle and then displace whoever is already in our starting 11.

Our squad is small, but its not really the starting 11 that we lost players from barring Doucoure and Harrison.

Agree. Will be interesting to see if Moyes tries or has the funds to buy another player who can play at 10.

I really like Alcaraz but not sure Moyes is as convinced as many of us. Hopefully he gets more game time at 10 this season.

Think he will try and add another midfielder who can score goals or is creative too as an 8.

Hopefully we get someone like Fellows plus another so we have options on the wing. An expensive player who could play right wing and AM would be ideal.

Would like to think he will can see him wanting sombody similar to a docoure being more physical who can play in cm aswell. Dont feel we really have that in midfield with onana/ doucoure both gone now.

A highly rated young player like Esteve isn't signing up to be fourth choice back up centre back.

It's a catch-22, only players who would be willing to take that spot are either well past their prime or simply bad players. Keeping Keane imo is a case of better the devil you know.
With Tarkowski's injury no way is it fourth choice.
