Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yes let’s keep the players we know aren’t good enough, and not buy better players. Brilliant strategy.
Cant really argue with that is why the tangala lad at millwall was a good option because of the wages/ sell on value/ low transfer. Is fair shout to question the keane deal as still be on higher wage for a 4th choice cb. Even if keane does sign i would like see some future planning for cb is any of the youth team lads even close to looking to step up. If not i would be looking to try and bring somebody in who is young so could possibly loan out with a view them coming back next season to push on

We literally have Barry lined up which would put us right up there just below the Super League clubs in money spent.
Thats how little happens early on.

Think its mainly down to a couple of things, PSR being the big one
But the other is waiting for the bigger boys to select the player they want, then you have to go round seeing what s left

There's no impetus for clubs to sell players early in the window, unless they're under financial stress or the player has a release clause.

Deadlines are like magnets, the closer you get the more activity there is.

Everyone looks at this from the buying side, no one looks from the selling side.

Isn't there something else about cash flow also? I vaguely remember us waiting on a date for tv money under the last donkey who owned us. Cash flow was talked about a lot. It might be irrelevant tbh, not sure.

So a player like O'Brien who can play both CB and RB. Tarkowski's hammy goes twang again and all of a sudden that waste of a shirt is starting again.

Keane as a starter is abysmal but keane as a 4th choice cb is a decent option.

We quite simply dont have the money to spend on trying to entice a new cb to come and sit on the bench, let alone have the money to bring in a starting cb.

But needs must i mean we resigned coleman and hes been done since his leg break if were being honest. Keane is good at what we need him to do, which is be emergency cover that we can dip in for a few games then take him back out when other people are back or need a little rest.

Burnley have signed their 8th player today.

Meanwhile we are waiting on Michael Keane news.

Leave signings late = ineffective pre season = slow start to regular season.

Don’t f*** it up Everton, we’ve been here so many times.

Oh god yes the days of the multiple secured charges when we borrowed against the TV money etc with dodgy loan companies. I am no expert but It would seem doubtful the Friedkens would continue this trend .
