To be honest I really don't get why he has signed a 12 month playing contract, as he will probably be fit enough to play maybe 3 games, the games he does play in will the fans trust him? as I certainly won't because when he has played teams have targeted his side and will do again, as others have said he is finished at this level and has been for about 3 seasons.

Nobody will really, but he is clearly well liked around the club and respected in the media too. We're just blobs on a forum who want the next Roberto Carlos to sign for us whilst we can't even sign a third choice Fulham defender. Moyes knew it would be hard and i doub't hes going to be starting every game. Moyes is still in the U.S watching the WCC and the board is still being put together, i am sure Thelwell handed over a list of targets to the new fellers. 12 months is a fine cover for a player who offers more behind the scenes really, Baines and Coleman - 2 players you'd have loved to be under the coaching styles of if you're a 10/16 year old starting you're career.
