New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Looking forward to seeing how these look in reality. It'll all be out the effectiveness of the lighting effect, I think.

Are they white plastic or anodised aluminium or something, do we know? Hard to tell from that picture and the renders.

Shuddering to read about a capacity cap. Even the mere thought of it.

On a more positive note, nice to see the branding started.

Think we have to wait and see what develops regarding connectivity and try not to overshadow the anticipation of what's to come.

It's come a long way from a few cones in the sand.

Here's another thing to mull over if there is a capacity cap: buying those Forever Blue + and Forever Blue memberships will have been like throwing £60/£35 down the toilet.

I dont think there's any doubt on the evidence of the previous two (under-capacity) test events.

Chaos is baked into this stadium scheme on the level of transportation.

It'll be a sore that opens up every time Everton have a home game.

And if, as has been suggested, LCC seek to cap the capacity of the stadium until more 'connectivity' allows its full safe capacity there wont be a door left on its hinges at the council's offices. That's not a route they'd likely go down IMO.
The very thought of that happening would lay the Club open to so much ridicule. I'll openly admit we have been inept on a great number of levels regards the running of the Club, but the construction, design and timely completion of the build has not been one of those.

So we’ve moved on from ‘stadium isn’t ready until October’ to ‘capacity cap mate’. So, the council put on a capacity cap due to their own failings of infrastructure, which is the job of local government (Everton having spent 800million to build a stadium), and you don’t think that TFG will immediately sue for loss of earnings due to gross negligence on behalf of the council? Really not sure what world we are living in here.

It's all about safe egress from that new stadium. It stands to reason that if there's major limitations to leaving the area beyond the stadium because of scarce transportation opportunities to make your way home quickly then that will result in a knock-on effect for the stadium in terms of people wanting to leave it to get one of those scarce places. Certainly until patterns of behaviour are settled.

This is why Rotheram's inactivity is front and centre here and it always was going to be the Achilles heel of this stadium scheme.

Rotheram isn't interested if the club does or doesn't get a safety certificate.

If you email/message/phone him and give him earache he wouldn't give a monkeys as its nothing to do with him.

He has already absolved himself, even though its down to him and nobody else, of transport issues as the club headed that group.

The stadium build deserved a lot more help on transport than it's had. I dont blame the club on this. They've made the commitment to put hundreds of millions into the north end of Liverpool.

This is ultimately a local state issue. They had the power to stop this stadium in its tracks if it meant no sense logistically, but they chose to allow it through with planning permission. At that point it became their responsibility to make things happen in terms of public transport but they haven't because their timeline on that is a lot more relaxed than Everton's: they just simply wait for the private sector to build houses, offices and set up bars and restaurants and there'll be an incremental and drawn out joining up of public transport to service the area over time.
